Can't think of any other reason to alter the details which were just themselves recently released. Looks like they are pushing to get the game itself out earlier and maybe add the other functions later. Probably will be cheaper also IMO.
New fact sheet is below... compare to the old further down the page, and you'll see a few little features are missing, such as community functionaility, race customization, photo mode and others. This doesn't confirm shit, but I'd say it's likely. Yes, I pay way to close attention to fact sheets and press releases in general.

Do you really think they took out "AI Pack Racing", or did someone decide its not important for the press release?
But it also looks like they went for a slimmed down version of the press release, so all that stuff may very well still be in the game, they just mentioned the more important stuff in the smaller space of the press statement.
Oh, photo mode and community features. Not bad.
It's likely a combination of both, which is why I said "seemingly". I've read enough SCEA press releases and fact sheets over the years to get a feel for what's going on. They are USUALLY very detailed, like the original.Originally Posted by theBishop
Is that really losing features, or are they just making the press release more succinct?

I'd say most of the community stuff is definitely not in there for launch... and there is no sense in delaying a downloadable game for that. Of course, I'm getting it no matter what, so it doesn't matter :) Sooner is still better, as long as the core of the game is as good and polished as we're expecting.
is there any indication about the suspected retail price?
*prays that soon is soon*
And I'm not surprised they've dropped Elimination mode as it was never really that much fun. At least this lets them concentrate on the main game more.

Anyone know whether the physics are based on the physics from Pulse or Pure? The Leipzig demo felt Pure-like but considering they mention Pulse in the old press release it could mean we will be getting Physics from Pulse.
It would matter because the difference between Pulse and Pure is night and day. With Pulse being superior.

the only time elimatrror mode was fun was in the N64 iteration (and equivalent console versions). You could actually rack up kills then and I had a hell of a time killing ships for fun. Really enjoyed it. Housemates at the time loved it too and we'd have a who can kill more games than actual racing sometimes.
Sounds great either way. I'll buy this.
Though a little disappointing I knew when they announced how feature packed the PSN game would have been that they would strip some stuff out of their so the Blu Ray game still has plenty of 'new' features to offer.
If those PSN Credit cards are not available before WoHD is released i will beat Phil in the face with a baseball bat.
Many Thanks.
Ha! Just hope you guys get the game the same year as us. SCEE loves to dick you guys around. PEACE.Originally Posted by CurlySaysX

I tried to find out when you'd be disappearing, but the link is dead. Shame. PEACE.Originally Posted by Pimpwerx

Is head-2-head supposed to be split screen multiplayer?Originally Posted by JayDub

Oh, photo mode and community features. Not bad.
If that's gone then that's a pretty big loss....

It's not so bad when SCEE are responsible for the game, at least that's my assumption. We got the HS demo same day as the US IIRC, earlier due to time differences. Plus we got Warhawk at exactly the same time so I'm pretty optimistic.Originally Posted by Pimpwerx

Can't wait for this, last I heard the devs reckon it's worth £11.99. Since I reckon Warhawk was incredibly good value at £19.99 (actually converts to $40 but we all know that isn't how it works, comparable UK price is around £30 I reckon) I think we Europeans can expect to pay exactly that. We may get screwed in terms of content but pricing seems a lot fairer.
So I'm in the "wait and see" camp but I doubt that the removal of some play modes would dampen my enthusiasm for this game. The new press release still says 1080p and 60fps and that's what I'm looking for in a Wipeout game.
In a recent interview one of the devs skirted over the split-screen question, he was asked about split-screen and online multiplayer and only confirmed online in his answer. Considering that and the fact that this is a 'port' of a PSP game I'm not particularly hopeful.Originally Posted by captscience

It is an SP gamemode. You play against one single AI controlled opponent.Originally Posted by captscience

This still hasn't been pushed out early so I don't see any reason why it would lose features.

It's losing features!?
KEEP THE PHOTO MODE!
When, already?
:(
I just want to race!
but i hope they will remove that pew pew weapon. i hated it in Fusion. this is not star wars game!
I think you're being foolish thinking that it will be $20. It'll be $30 at least, maybe $40.Originally Posted by beermonkey@tehbias

EDIT: just realized this thread is ancient.
Wait what? didn't look at the date. Who pushed this thread?
