Guitar Queer-O: Southpark's next VG inspired episode
#1
1113 Guitar Queer-o
![]() ![]() "Stan and Kyle are hooked on Guitar Hero. But Stan's superior skills on the video game damage his friendship with Kyle." So we have- Okama Gamesphere PSP Wii WOW Seems like at least a few people on southpark crew are really into gaming... all this plus the many video game character appearances in the imagination land trilogy make that pretty clear. Hope this episode is good. |

They'll probably make fun of how people put so much effort into it when they could be learning real guitar. That's pretty much the only thing it could be. Or else it'll be have next to nothing to do with the plot, like in the Wii episode.

It'll probably be more of an addiction thing than a "you're a loser" story. Obviously there will be some wacky shit put in there but I imagine it'll be people practising to beat some loner kid that's really good, and getting some sort of help from a magical imaginary character.

I thought the WOW ep was the best of the "game series" precisely because it was about wow and the people who play it. I'm don't play it myself, but it was a funny side of the whole addiction iwas able to understand anyway.

Whether this will be the last episode until the strike is over depends on a couple of things (yes SP does does sometimes do current events, but they also prepare scripts ahead of time) and whether they would risk breaking the strikeline and being scabs. I'm not sure what backlash they could face or if they would be willing to. |

Matt and Trey have confirmed that the computer animation they use lets them create an episode in about a week (well, animate it). They have also comeout with episodes about stuff that happened about a week earlier (like when they caught Saddam Hussein and SP featured it about 1 1/2 weeks later).
Yes they do probably have a few scripts done. The problem is that that since they voice about 95% of the characters in the show, if they choose not to cross the picketlines then Comedy Central would either have to get replacement actors or hault production of any unfinished episodes (which in the case of SP, would be all except this one). |

I guess it wouldn't bother Matt and Trey since South Park is what they focuse on anyways. After doing some research, it appears that being a non-WGA show just means that anybody writing for the show would not get the lawyers or support of the WGA. Since Trey and Matt (mostly Trey) write all the episodes themselves and are also producers and voice actors, they get most of the money that the studio doesn't get anyways.
