Seriously. That's really disappointing for the console's future. September really was the last gasp of anyone willing to buy one of the things.

Interesting Nintendo study to see on the intent of future console purchase with the PS3 not far behind the Wii, and both way ahead of Xbox 360.

I did enjoy the new 'Dabblers' category though!

This slide is amusing considering how many of these Wii titles are shovelware. EXCLUSIVE shoverware though :)

500k a month? Wii is outselling the shit out of every console ever. Even the DS! And it didn't take a year for Wii to shoot off either.

It's very tempting to get some of the numbers like early N64, or early PS2 which we "know", but not through legitimate sources we can use at GAF.

7/07? You'd think PS3's September wouldn't have happened if this was an accurate portrayal of PS3 demand in July.

It's also inaccurate, but was discussed before..

Purchase intent doesn't necessarily mean imminent purchase intent...they could have been asked which consoles they intended to purchase, ever.

Well, obviously, but it's not a slight gap between the two. In some cases it's almost double. That's rather significant according the graph. It's also equally interesting to consider that the survey was taken before both the 360 and PS3 started their big marketing pushes, around August.

Don't forget the VC will get Christmas Day updates in the US. But i doubt that would be the 9 we would need ( at the rate of 3 per week ). So multiple 4 day a weeks have to start soon [ Perhaps the 19th anniversary VC gets moved from 3 a week to 4 a week from now on? ]

LTD Sell Through: Post 'Second Holiday'

Aren't Wii and PS3 pre second holiday rather than post second holiday right now? If so ? makes sense, and 6.5 million just the starting point for Nintendo, hence the upwards arrow graphic?

Even so, the numbers come from NPD.. I don't think NPD can't estimate Sony numbers..

360 and ps3 is rather easy to explain, well my personal case anyways. I have a 360 so i dont intend to purchase one, but i want to get a ps3 when MGS4 comes out.

Very true. Christmas Day last year fell on monday, and there were 5 updates instead of 3. (Two of which were free iirc Mario Bros and ?? ). So assuming those two christmas gifts get repeated this year. + 4 a week updates starting on the 19th anniversary that puts us at 200 for years end.
