How is the Hori EX2? I want a decent arcade stick that will be good for fighting games but also other games that exclusively use the D-pad (mostly XBLA games like Pac-man and such). I'm not a hardcore fighter game player or anything, but I do like playing SF2. I also would like to get one with a price that resembles the price of a regular controller. What's the difference between its $60 price tag and the SS rated upcoming $150 SF4 one?
Edit: Or since the SF4 one is unreleased how about the difference between this and the still pretty expensive Real Arcade Pro EX? Last edited by Synth_floyd : 12-18-2008 at 01:26 PM. |

Exchange Xbox 360 HRAP EX for Hori DOA4
#1911
Disclaimer -- I don't play fighters w/my arcade stick, mostly arcade games, and the occasional hook up to the PC for some MAME action.
I have modded my Hori DOA4 with the octagonal gate. I abhor the clicking of the stick movement, but I got used to it to the point, where I could mostly ignore it. I love the look of the HRAP. How much better of a stick is the HRAP (has a sanwa stick, yes?). How's the action (stiffness/centering, is it 'clicky')? Is it only a marginally better stick than the octa-modded DOA4? Anyone....MarkMan....Bueler....etc... Any help greatly appreciated... Oh, and if I do upgrade, is anyone here interested in the gate-modded DOA4 stick -- I'm thinking what, $35 (with US shipping) sound reasonable? |

Great Poster:
Every Japanese arcade stick is clicky aside from the Sanwa Flash and the ASCII sticks with flash clones. ;( One good thing to consider is the clicks let you know the stick is working :P --- Also, new PS3 stick! http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-...j-70-341i.html ![]() For those of you that don't know about it, the RoydsStick.EX is a specialized arcade stick that has swappable panel inserts. It was originally made for PS2 but is now coming out for PS3 (which will probably work on PC as well). I'm a proud owner of a PS2 RoydsStick.EX and am confident in giving it a decent ranking on my Retail Arcade Stick Ranking List. |

So here's my problem.
- I have a HRAP 1 modded with Sanwa buttons... so i don't want to buy another stick for SF4. - I've got a PS2 > PC controller adapter, but my PC is a P4 2.4ghz with 512mb ram dead end. - I have a Macbook Pro 2.4ghz Core2Duo with 2gb ram, 8600M GT/256mb.... but haven't tarnished it with a Windows install yet - I don't have a 360 or PS3 So my questions are - Have the specs been revealed for SF4 PC version? Will my Mac setup be close enough? - Are there any reliable/no lag adapters for PS2 > 360 or PS2 to PS3? - Will the PC version be able to play online with the consoles? - Who wants to give me a free HDTV to tip me towards the console version? Thanks in advance |

![]() Bought a cheap Elecom stick for 2000円 and bought the Sanwa stick, 6 buttons, and 2 plugs for 3000円. The total was 5000円 and it uses the official buttons from the arcades here in Tokyo. I would never pay for 6000円 for a stick, and go figure my stuff is now made with higher quality than most sticks. Plays SSF2THDR, SCIV, and Battle Fantasia like butter. Can't wait for BlazBlue and SF4 and KoFXII to come out for PS3 now. |

I seem to remember seeing a guide somewhere on how to get the Soul Calibur II Universal Arcade Stick working through USB; IIRC it required a fair amount of soldering. Can't seem to find it now, though, does anyone know what I'm talking about?
