LOST Season 4 - January 31st #1

via AICN
Quote:
ABC will begin airing new fourth-season episodes of “Lost” Jan. 31.

Many speculated fresh “Lost” might remain lost until next fall in the event of a long strike. ABC's move to schedule "Lost" at midseason defies the preferences of showrunners Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, who did not think the last episode of “Lost” scripted before the writers’ strike made for the best of season finales.

Locke, Hurley, Kate, et al will be taking up regular residence away from Wednesday night for the first time. They’ll now be replacing the incorrigible Dr. McSteamy & Co. by inheriting the “Grey’s Anatomy” timeslot at 9 p.m. Thursday (where they are certain to crush NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice”).

ABC’s new drama “Eli Stone,” from a bunch of the guys behind “Brothers & Sisters,” will follow at 10 p.m. Thursdays, replacing the Christopher Titus crapfest “Big Shots.” “Stone” is a about a thirtysomething attorney (Jonny Lee Miller) who finds himself plagued with “visions” that take him in not-always-lawyerly directions.

"Lost's" old Wednesdays-At-10 timeslot will be taken over by "Cashmere Mafia."
Hurrah! It's earlier than expected!

Well, it frees up Wednesday a little bit. I had to deal with Mythbusters, Lost, and Ghost Hunters at the same time. Now I have to deal with Lost and Scrubs

Shit, Thursdays at 9PM is in the same time slot as The Office... hope they don't steal viewership.

Earlier premiere is cool though. But it'll just make the writers strike and the wait from episode 8 to 9 that much longer.

Celebrity Apprentice and CSI reruns are the competition.

It is a good slot for the show, as it replaces Grey's as ABC's tentpole. And any show will need a month to restart when the strike ends, so chances are there won't be any new episodes of any shows before at least Mid-February. So, they'll be able to move it around.

This is the first time I'm going to have to wait a full week between episodes. I wonder how my appreciation of the show will change.

I watched the first two seasons all at once, then season 3 week by week -- the anticipation between each episode was pretty incredible. :)

At least you won't have to wait two or three weeks between episodes like we used to during season 2. Now that was shitty.

I had no complaints about the episodes that didn't contribute to the main storyline while watching seasons one through three. I'm not sure if that's because I'm as interested in the characterization as I am the plot (and I tend to prefer questions to answers) or because I never had to tune in and find out that week's episode was dedicated to some background characters.

I guess I'll see.

BTW, I wanted to mention that I am a JULIET fan. It seems from the other Lost threads that GAF does not like her.

And I was happy when Ana Lucia, Charlie and Boone died. They were like, the WORST characters on the show, IMO. :-)

The greatest suspense in TV history was the break after season 1 ended and season 2 began. It ended just after the hatch was opened. The camera panned out as it went down the hatch and you see Locke looking down the shaft with the crazy music in the background playing was EPIC. The viewer has waited practically half a season to find out what is down there only to be blue-balled.. Holy shit was that a long wait and I never want a TV show to put me through that again.

I'm a fan of Juliet as well, and i'm about as negative about this show as you can get. Elizabeth Mitchell is fantastic. Sucks that she shares so much screentime with Jackass.

I think everyone did. What a lousy episode. Fans hated Bai-Ling's character so much that the writers changed their plans to bring her back a few more times.

That was easily the low point of S3, much like Charlie's S2 ep. It was all down hil towards there and uphill from there.

No the weak point was the locke FBI episode. So lame. And I actually saw it in a Lost Magazine as the fan favorite. Ugh.

Yea, I kinda like it. I mean, Locke involved in drug trade? Come on, that garners atleast 1 cool point, no matter the context. Jack's tattoo's was totally irrelevant, and even worse considering the terrible advertising surrounding it.

I didn't see that drug twist coming. But Jesus, that Goku guy was soooo stupid.

Also, does anyone else feel that most of the Lost filler is REALLY good? I mean, that episode with Hurley finding Ben's Dad's van was pretty good. Expose was awesome too.

Yeah, I've liked almost everything I've seen.

Expose was hilarious. It was like the writers said, "Okay, we fucked up, and here's our official apology." I can't believe so many people hate it.

That, the Hurley-mobile, and Charlie "baptizing" Claire's baby were the worst episodes of the show. So, so horrible.

But then they pull of an excellent filler episode like the two dudes being buried alive.

Most of this shows filler is plain bad, but i personally loved Expose. That Hurley episode, though, was just as awful as Jack's chinese tatoo adventure.

That's the primary thing I love about Lost. Even at it's worst (barring tattoos and charlie's baptism ep) it's still on par with many other shows on TV.

Eight episode season? What the fuck ever. My DVD collection is gonna look like shit. And they're even saying the end of ep 8 is a shitty way to end it...

PLEASE tell me there'll be 8 more episodes for Season 4 once the strike ends?

The entire season is 16 episodes - they only had half ready before the writers strike happened. After the strike is resolved we'll get the remaining 8.

There are going to be 6 sieasons in total and I'm fine with that.

my favourite episodes in S3 were "Flashes before your eyes", "The man from Talahasse", and of course the last six episodes, which were all top notch
The brig, the man behind the curtain, greatest hits, and through the looking glass made my jaw drop.
