Eh, let's wait and see how it works in motion before we make any such declarations, yeah?Originally Posted by Dante

Actually the dev had a quote about that a few weeks ago. :)Originally Posted by AltogetherAndrews

The article says they're shots of their "real time virtual actors".Originally Posted by Tieno
Can't see if there's uncanney valley without looking at the entire face and in motion.
Are these in-game or renders or cutscene models?

As of last E3, they were saying late 2008. But I don't think they've really committed to a date yet, maybe at GDC or E3?Originally Posted by Dyno

Well, teeth, lipsync and eyes. They've addressed the eyes, that much is sure (if these are indeed realtime)Originally Posted by recklessmind
Her teeth were the most "uncanny valley" stuff in the E3 vid iirc... lets see those.
Interesting, Heavenly Sword had some amazing skin in the cutscenes so I'd guess this seems plausible for a game that focuses even more on that. Though the facial animation, acting and voice acting needs to be really good with such realistic facial models for it to not fall into the Uncanney Valley.Originally Posted by gofreak

Like I said in the other thread, wowzers. The eyes are perhaps the hardest thing to do in a face, so I can see why they're highlighting that..and it looks like a really good job. Maybe that Alfred Molina demo from E3 05 will be topped here!
The eyes aren't the hardest part in defeating uncanny valley.Originally Posted by Marconelly

The real actress's teeth were kind of..toothy, though. When I saw the real life rehearsal, the teeth in the demo didn't look so weird afterall ;)Originally Posted by Marconelly

Eyes are the definitely the hardest part of overcoming the uncanny valley. Especially when using techniques and shaders that are viable for real time use.Originally Posted by WrikaWrek
