Need to see it in motion, but

Holy. Shit.

I've seen worse looking eyes on real people photographs, and many times.

Can't see if there's uncanney valley without looking at the entire face and in motion.

Are these in-game or renders or cutscene models?

Also, Hopefully this game will make a GDC appearance, seems prabable due to it being so tech heavy.

Just got done playing Indigo Prophecy not more than a month ago. Graphics look good and this looks like a different actress than the one shown before. Interesting in seeing what the premise to this game is and how the gameplay differs from IP.

The article says they're shots of their "real time virtual actors".

Like I said in the other thread, wowzers. The eyes are perhaps the hardest thing to do in a face, so I can see why they're highlighting that..and it looks like a really good job. Maybe that Alfred Molina demo from E3 05 will be topped here!

I just hope this is not some kind of pre-vis render in Maya, because it sure as hell looks better than most of those human face off line renders...

Well, teeth, lipsync and eyes. They've addressed the eyes, that much is sure (if these are indeed realtime)

Interesting, Heavenly Sword had some amazing skin in the cutscenes so I'd guess this seems plausible for a game that focuses even more on that. Though the facial animation, acting and voice acting needs to be really good with such realistic facial models for it to not fall into the Uncanney Valley.

I saw some trailers of Beowulf and even that still looks weird.

The eyes aren't the hardest part in defeating uncanny valley.

The real actress's teeth were kind of..toothy, though. When I saw the real life rehearsal, the teeth in the demo didn't look so weird afterall ;)

Wow. That's amazing. Way to go Quantic Dream. I can't wait. Never was a believer in the Uncanny Valley view. Why else would people watch movies? Wouldn't it be awesome to control them? Kind of like Uncharted.

Eyes are the definitely the hardest part of overcoming the uncanny valley. Especially when using techniques and shaders that are viable for real time use.
