This presentation will cover an overview of the current Home Tools features and the feature roadmaps for the future. Additionally we shall walk through the process of creating a space for Home and show a guide to creating 3D mini-games within the Home environments. Wrapping up we shall take a sneak peak at Home Interactive Item creation.

I think it'll be public soon before/after GDC.

SCE... yeah... everything according to plan with HOME (the official line last Summer)... now we have to wait almost till Q2 CY 2008 to even get new details about HOME and no mention of an Open Beta date... :(.

I wouldn't mind if they opened up the beta during this showing. 'Home public beta commences.. now.'

I really hope Eight Days, and The Getaway will be there this time. :(

It would be even better if people at the conference heard a beep, then a guy screaming "Servers are down!", and watched in awe as the lights in the conference room suddenly turn off :lol.

At the snail's pace the beta has been proceeding at, I'm not expecting too much in the real-time demo.

lol, i dont even care anymore. they showed this last march and havent delivered on any of the promises, and here we are a year later and some demos. whatever

excellent :D lets hope PSN will stay headphoneless even when home launches to keep dickwadding to a minimum.

I really hope that a public beta would be soon after GDC. HOME is a very ambitious project and we understand that, but Sony let us get our hands on it please. Not everyone here is a freaking GAP member ya know. ;)

I know I've been against LBP and now HOME recently, but my hate towards HOME is recent, because I just realized how fucking clueless the developers seem to be about it. I hate the fact that they showed an interactive demo 2 years ago featuring awe-inspiring stuff that is now taking those two years to implement ; it's as if Sony wanted to steal some thunder during an event, but they just can't deliver realistically.

To me, it's the same bullshit as those "target render", only much much worse.

Edit : My point is that these "awe-inspiring" stuff seemed to be playable when they showed it.

Hey it was under a year ago that they showed it - and there IS a private beta currently going on.

While this is dev focused the image that popped up in my head was crafting in Anarchy Online. The calm music and the epic sci-fi cities and wastelands. *goes to download*

Edit: LittleBeru. Home has been public for 10 months or so, not two years. Personally I've been in the Beta for more than seven months.

Isn't that exactly what they're doing? They give the basic stuff and let people test it out and gradually add new stuff in.

That's customizing.

And this thread isn't about LBP anyway.

And they are already in closed Beta. I mean shit this is standard for games let alone something like this that is FREE and on a console.

I might be wrong, but the development of HOME has more in common with a MOD development environment (totally awkward and imprecise) than a game development (focussed and pipelined).
