Working on a GameTrailers link.
Looks kinda fun so far. Looks like fans of the old TG-16 shooters will have a blast. Waggle is limited, and it looks like it's confined to some strange tilt mechanics.
and Im buying this.
which reminds me, nanostray 2 must be out by now
edit: no, 3/11 for nanostray 2
Edit: Wait, just watched the trailer and it looks faster than the last time I saw it. Maybe this is one of those games where speed gets better as you go farther, I don't know. Back on my consideration list it goes, anyway!
As have I and luckily I haven't been disappointed much thus far.Originally Posted by drohne

also do you guys have a list of the shmups on Wii VC? Id like to check those out too.
it came out in japan a while ago, under some lengthy japanese title i can't remember. afaik it's still scheduled for us release as 'heavenly guardian' -- don't know its release date, but the ps2 version is supposed to come out at the end of this monthOriginally Posted by Innotech
can someone please tell me the status of Kiki Kai world wii? Is it still being made?
ok. thanks. So at least we have a Us title. Sucks that they changes all the damn sprites. I hope the game retains the classic feel.Originally Posted by drohne

Whenever it comes out, I'm interested. I have the same philosophy as a lot of you guys when it comes to shooters... buy now, ask questions later / never.
Shit, it did? I have to go looking for it.Originally Posted by drohne

Kiki Kai World came out on the Wii in Japan as Yukinko Daisenpuu.
edit again! for more info: UFO Interactive has a page for the US PS2 release of Heavenly Guardian, but nothing about the Wii version. So it looks like it might end up Wii-only in Japan and PS2-only in the US.
Well, actually...Originally Posted by Nash

Played yesterday with a friend for the first time and it was damned good.
If it's realeased in US don't miss it.
The only bad thing is you must play with both remote and nunchuck, no Classic Controller or Hori Fighting Stick support...
Monkey King (Shin Chuuka Taisen in Japan) is not as good as Yukinko, horizontal shooter with gameplay similar to Gradius (power-ups will be lost when you die), the only nice feature is you can speed up/down the scrolling by moving the remote to left (speed down) or right (speed up).
Didn't play in multiplayer, maybe it's more fun, but honestly is far from Yukinko's quality.
imo if you want to pick up one, just choose Yukinko (if you have a PS2, of course)
bleh! good thing we're getting a ps2 versionOriginally Posted by Moor-Angol

(now watch the ps2 version get cancelled)
where is the pig and the monk?
well, there are 2 different ways to play the game, classic is : use analogue stick for moving, shoot with A and use the "smart bomb" (which freezes enemies and you can do combo hits) by waggling the remote.Originally Posted by drohne

the other one is : move with analogue stick but point on the screen for shooting, if you get used it's very nice cause it's like targetting an enemy, very helpfull especially during boss battles, you can shoot in a direction but moving to the opposite.
and if you don't point the remote to the screen you can play as classic mode, so you can use pointing shooting just when you really need.
there is the slight, slight chance that CC support could be added to the US version.Originally Posted by drohne
well the ps2 version will probably use dual analog controls -- or at least it did when it was called kikikaikai -- which should be a more elegant version of the pointing mode. i don't understand why they didn't support classic and gamecube pads. anyway, i'm glad to hear that you like the game. i'm looking forward to it.
I just watched some youtube vids of Heavenly Guardian, it does look pretty nice. The Monkey King, eh, I'm warming up to it. It'd be nice to get a shooter that doesn't curbstomp me the first time I play it.
