Molyneux: ‘We’re About to Revolutionize AI’
#1

Quote:
I'll believe it when I see it. My guess is that the game will be simple on a visual level, because advanced AI has a difficult time remaining convincing when moving in unnatural ways or when represented with unconvincing visuals. I expect something cute, but smart. Can't wait to see what it will turn out to be:) We need an AI, animations, and physics (as in, physical properties of materials) revolution, all combined. The game industry still has a lot to do; we're far from a technical bottleneck. |

Doesn't look like he actually says that in the article..
But I'm sure we'll see it as a quote in 2 years when the game comes out and isn't all that |

I wonder if Peter realizes that no one listens to this stuff anymore.

I recently went to my friends house to check out his wii. I was generally impressed. It was larger than I expected though.

I loved Fable, but Molyneux really should just shut the hell up and hold the big talk until after he has delivered something worth the big talk. It was difficult to have any sort of decent conversation about the awesome aspects of Fable without the discussions being hijacked by twits crying about the many false promises.

The dog in Fable 2 will be a billion times smarter than any video game dog that came before it.

This seems as good a thread as any to ask this question in; what exactly was Molyneux promising for the original Fable that got so many people hyped for the game (only to disappoint by not actually doing any of it)? I've heard about all this before, but I wasn't paying attention to stuff like that at the time.
