Dawn of War 2 gets one whole response? Maybe I should have said something disparaging about the Wii in the title or something.

the nerd in me is screaming yes, and simulataneously trying to decide whether that is an Ultramarine captain in terminator armor with tyranid bone trophies, or a chaos chosen in
terminator armor with chaos spiky bits. However, the single power fist and bolter are typical to a Space Marine captain, so Im guessing its the former. OMG TYRANIDS CONFIRMED

Hopefully we get some good info out of the next issue, my friends and I played the shit out of the original DoW back when it first came out. We all totally geeked out when we heard about it and got into the beta as early as we could.

I enjoyed Dawn of War as well, but the engine hasn't aged well with me in the face of CoH. I'm not saying I want prettier graphics (I turn my CoH graphics wayyy down to make it playable) but the gameplay improvements available on the essence engine is something I can't wait to try out in the DoW universe.

Day 1. But DAMNIT... it'd better be AMAZING! I know it will, only because I have no idea what nids are, and everyone seems to want them, and DoW2 will have them.

There's no way. This is definitely a sequel.

I would be amped if this game launched with a ludicrous ten races with the obvious addition of Tyranids, but that's not really conducive to the xpac revenue stream.

So, any thoughts on what the starting armies will be? Space Marines, Tyranids, and Chaos are guaranteed, but I wonder what the fourth race will be.

I take it they're the Zerg on steroids? At least that's what I'm hoping for. Nid squads in the hundreds, or at least dozens, instead of your typical dozen.

I'm hoping for at least 6. They have to put the Eldar and Orkz and Necron, they're all too unique to keep out. I guess they might want to torment us and purposely put them in to an expansion... but please don't!!! :)

Orks, no doubt. Gorgutz is the closest thing DoW has to Kerrigan or Kane.

I heard rumors they'll be sporting random mutations and what not to give justice the way they are presented in fluff, something they couldn't do in DoW. Also, path fixing will probably be addressed. Thank God.

I'd be hard pressed to imagine DoW 2 with no Eldar.

I'm not too big into the lore or anything, but I hope they ditch the Tau. They are kind of fun to play because of their range and how their units work, but their fluff is just boring. Too 'perfect.'

The Tau and Necrons are definitely expansion-races (along with DE and SoB). No one cares about them enough to want them in the core game. I'm personally rooting for IG, but dah Orks would be cool too.

Photoshop for the doubters (Credit to Slow_Runner):

No need to fear, it's gotta be DoW2.

They have to go classic races for the first game, so it'll be Space Marines, Traitor Marines, Orcs, Eldar, and of course, the Tyranid horde.
