No, just be employed in Redmond, Washington. Microsoft propped up HD-DVD to fight Blu-Ray because they wanted to confuse the consumer.Originally Posted by The Faceless Master

Yes, now it is time for the OEMs to make their money. This is why Sony is going to have to stand pat on PS3 pricing for a while.Originally Posted by golem

I don't know, something's fishy. We bought this excuse for January (retailers didn't order enough / it made sense after rushing the hardware before the holidays). We've been told to expect similar results in February, which makes less sense, it's not like this is a brand new product.
Now, we're being hinted at to expect supply contriants again for March? Lol I say. Lol.

I know, I read between the lines. He said by April it will be in good shape, so to me, that counts as hinting at March may or may not be ok.Originally Posted by Agent Icebeezy

Supply constraints my ass. Maybe they're supply constrained because they need to keep replacing the dead 360 with a new one. :lol

I'm expecting another 360 supply shortage around June 12th or so.

Many, many Blu-Rays use the same VC-1 codecs that HD-DVD does.

How does that not imply they expect to claim supply constraint problems in March?"We definitely expect we will trail in February as a result of our supply constraints," Greenberg said, adding: "By April, we will be in a very healthy inventory situation."

To put things in perspective, my store has been fully stocked all month. We haven't sold out. In fact Elites are not selling at my store at all. I've seen other stores in stock as well. I worked at a different store in my district two days this week and guess what? They had full stock as well. There is no supply issues now.Originally Posted by Deadly Monk
We still only get a couple of 360s every couple of weeks. It's been two years, what's going on?
We have been told in an email that they're going to have plenty by GTA4. Which means a dozen a week during that month compared to the two we get now.

Me either, the hd-dvd drive was an option only, so I wouldn't see them ever putting a BD in the box, may be an add on at the most.Originally Posted by Tom Penny

At this level, retailers will feature a product in their weekly advertising circulars. If you are not at this level, retailers can't guarantee consumers will find one if they go into the store and they most likely won't support your product in weekly ads. Although you can indeed find PS3s in stores currently, we are no where near an "in-stock" position."

I know that it's essentially a staple to bring up the $99 wi-fi, but it really is a bit silly. My 360 is connected to a wireless bridge that I paid about $30 for and it works fine. Just because they sell an accessory does not mean that it's the only choice for consumers. We don't all buy official cables either.Originally Posted by DeadGzuz

$400 PS3, wi-fi built in and best BD player on the market.
$350 360, $99 wi-fi add-on and no BD.
What value? They can brag about lowest entry cost, but with the over priced proprietary peripherals they are not the best value.
Shhh the longer they're out and no one buys them the better chance(hopefully) I might have with a clearance sale. Even if the Halo bundle looks pretty ugly it would be perfect for me if it was 199. I need a 360 for the new Tales game and I can handle a red ring of death or two for 199.Originally Posted by Son of Godzilla

Well that is us man people think that if it's branded by something to the original product that is the way just must go with. I did that once upon a time but now I am savy son.Originally Posted by kmfdmpig

Hmmm. I guess now they're claiming retroactively that when they didn't go 2:1 in December 2007 they weren't "in stock" either. Funny, if they didn't care to mention that until now, they did their shareholders a real disservice."We still think we have a great value, that we have significantly better value than Sony. Every month we've actually been in stock we've outsold them by a 2 to 1 margin," Greenberg said.
