Umihara Kawase Portable [PSP] Thread of Bugs and Tears
#1
So Umihara Kawase Portable came out, and it seems that it's a buggy pile of shit. (For the unfamiliar, it's a port of an import-only PS1 game that was a cult hit and a sequel to a Super Famicom game.) Collision problems and physics problems abound. Fans are hopping mad. The game sold 1800 copies on the first day... out of 20,000 copies shipped. This thread is for laughing (and crying) at the sad product that Rocket Studio (http://www.rocketstd.co.jp/) pinched off.
Rope collision problems (watch as it fails to react to the platform completely): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PtaxkYxk4I More of the rope/platform collision bug: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NA2BW...eature=related Rope fails to attach to block: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrhMsdozapY Kawase gains and loses momentum mysteriously while hanging motionless: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmxH4...eature=related Infinite rope! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnC11gTm9fM Rope should break contact when being stretched by the rising platforms, but doesn't: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pkNC3J6wU0 Rope gets stuck to vertical surfaces, making it difficult to swing up to a ledge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8t_A0dsZ1c Here's a page in Japanese illustrating the major known bugs: http://www32.atwiki.jp/kawasepsp/pages/12.html |

Well shit, my copy is on its way and I hope it really isnt that bad. The PS1 game is amazing and I dont know anything about the SNES game, but yeah...PS1 game is really awesome. I already have a reason to be pissed off about this game and its because it held up my shipment of Bangaio Spirits (which I still havent got yet).

If you've got access to nico video, this clip's full of bugs and lolz:
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2766540 I've been trying to split the flv to fit it on YouTube, but I've been failing to manage it with free tools on OSX. |
