English really shouldn't have dropped gender and case.
I'm replaying it now.

I suppose you could be neuter though. Depends.
On the contrary, English should have dropped gender-specific pronouns altogether. It would make things much easier, since in most cases they just trip you up.Originally Posted by Dragona Akehi

Nah, makes it far too boring. Inflection is fun.Originally Posted by Sharp

you need to experience the story! I was lucky enough to not know anything about it till I played the game back winter 2006. one of the best story in JRPGs, if you ask me.
I have lived in the U.s. my whole life and I stopped at DQ IV :( But I'll keep your recommendation in mindOriginally Posted by Error
don't spoil yourself or anything people, don't read damn story sypnosis about DQV.

Then again it was sort of the same for me back several years ago when I ran through the translation. Practically my first taste of Dragon Quest and I've never looked back since.
Having gotten into Dragon Quest more recently than some, I've tended to few the series as story-lite compared to most other big RPG series. So yeah, I was pleasantly surprised at the way Dragon Quest V unfolded.Originally Posted by Error

Sadly, I'm pretty sure all the DQ DS remakes will come out in Japan before even one of them sees the light of day here.Originally Posted by Segata Sanshiro
Good news. Now let's get some news about DQIV coming to NA, and there'll be cheers and beers all around.
Dunno about that.Originally Posted by Vyse The Legend

Keep your eyes open.

that's not the case for me, I actually enjoy and look forward to DQ stories. I can't really say the same about a bunch of jrpgs.Originally Posted by JoshuaJSlone

is it the cool scenarios? yeah. the awesome feeling of adventure? yes. the lack of melodramatic stuff? absolutely. I don't really like using this word to describe games, but to me, DQV story is epic.
I really hope that it's in my hands sometimes in the Summer. I really have nothing to do then (unless, I'm forgetting some big releases...)Originally Posted by Dragona Akehi
DQIV USA will probably be after July, thanks to the FFIV release, but I can't possibly see a future where DQVI is released and DQIV has yet to see the light of English day.

Final Fantasy IV itself?
Etrian Odyssey?
Space Invaders Extreme?
The DS is doing pretty good for the summer season
Sadly, I'm not really interesting in those games (maaaybe Trauma Center. And the reason I'm not getting FFIV is because I have a policy of buying remakes of games I own.)Originally Posted by grandjedi6

Although, I was speaking of games on all of the consoles/handhelds I own (I realize I may have sounded like a troll.)
How could you forget Bangai-O Spirits? Shame on you, sir.Originally Posted by grandjedi6

back on topic:
I really got to try a DQ game one of these days :\ Its not random battles is it?
There are sooooooo many things wrong with this post. I have no idea where to begin, so I just won't.Originally Posted by Lobster
Finally a game to help the DS pull past through 2nd place.

Poor you.
Encounter rate isn't as high as SMT games, though. (at least, Nocturne.)
Remember: DQ is pretty much old-school.

It'd only be weird if we actually saw more of DQIX and turned out to best one yet. Sadly, that isn't the case(from what we have seen thus far).Originally Posted by zoku88

Well unlucky for you because FFIV might be one of the best examples of how to do a remake where the game feels very fresh!Originally Posted by zoku88

By the same token, the sooner we get the FFIV,V,VI,etc remake out of the way, the closer we get to FFIX. :(Originally Posted by Jiggy37
Great. Bonus points for the probable fact that the sooner these remakes are released, the sooner we get to find out the release date of DQIX as well.
Don't you think that's taking the "believing" one step too far? ;POriginally Posted by Pureauthor

Don't worry..the first part is just a stab at the people in MC threads who think DS sales have saturated.Originally Posted by Vyse The Legend

The second part..yeah I've never played a DQ game ever..I was kind of excited that the DS was gonna be ARPG but now its turned back in TBRPG..but it looks like its not random battles.
