you need to experience the story! I was lucky enough to not know anything about it till I played the game back winter 2006. one of the best story in JRPGs, if you ask me.

Then again it was sort of the same for me back several years ago when I ran through the translation. Practically my first taste of Dragon Quest and I've never looked back since.

is it the cool scenarios? yeah. the awesome feeling of adventure? yes. the lack of melodramatic stuff? absolutely. I don't really like using this word to describe games, but to me, DQV story is epic.

Hell yes. BRING ON THE LOCALIZATION. DQV has one of the most unique stories ever in a jrpg. PLAY IT.

The second part..yeah I've never played a DQ game ever..I was kind of excited that the DS was gonna be ARPG but now its turned back in TBRPG..but it looks like its not random battles.
