Pre-order Ninja Gaiden II and get free Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack code (Circuit City) #1

http://clickserve.cc-dt.com/link/tpl...oductDetail.do

Credit to CAG for finding this deal.

When you pre-order Ninja Gaiden II on circuitcity.com, they'll send you a free code for the Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack within one week.

No indication yet if this is an online-only deal or if it applies in-store as well.

Pretty nice deal imo since I was planning on getting both anyways. :)

So, Circuit City thinks that NG2 players are also Halo players?
That's odd. It's probably not too incorrect, but it's strange.

What would be another strange combo?

The Bungie and Team Ninja love affair continues
I was afraid after they had to cut the gravity hammer in NGII that would be the end.

Had this been a Europe deal, it would've been a pure win-win situation for me right there...

So I'm assuming this means they will charge you before the game ships?

Actually, it's more because Microsoft publishes both games.

Naaaaaaaah, that would be too logical.

I'd consider this if in-store pickup was available. Is it?

So there isn't going to be an NG2 collector’s edition? I don't want to order this and then be screwed by not being able to cancel.

So far it doesn't look like it. There might not even be a "NGII Black" down the line because Itagaki thinks XBLM is viable enough for all the new content they are going to add down the line.

Great deal but I don't have the will power to wait an extra week for the Halo 3 maps. Too bad this didn't pop up last week. :(

Most likely not.

Either way, just buy the game in store and once the copy arrives in the mail return it using the original's receipt.

It doesn't have to have the same UPC?

Nope. One's as good as another. I do it all the time...and not for just video games either. For instance, today, I returned an unopened hard drive enclosure to Micro Center that I received on Friday from newegg. Really, the only thing that this won't work with are things with distinct serial numbers and honestly, I think you could probably sneak those by the average retail store employee regardless.

I believe this is tied to NG2 using a custom physics engine, which may not have been able to replicate the gravity hammer well.

You'd think the plasma sword would make more sense, with the new focus on decapitation. There was even a plasma saber in the first game.

Maybe Itagaki will get the memo and put it up as hopefully free DLC down the line or something...

People on CAG have been reporting that they've got their map codes about 4 days after placing their order, and they were also able to easily cancel the pre-order online after getting the map code as well.
