So far it doesn't look like it. There might not even be a "NGII Black" down the line because Itagaki thinks XBLM is viable enough for all the new content they are going to add down the line.

For instance, today, I returned an unopened hard drive enclosure to Micro Center that I received on Friday from newegg. Really, the only thing that this won't work with are things with distinct serial numbers and honestly, I think you could probably sneak those by the average retail store employee regardless.

While the mutual love-fest between Team Ninja and Bungie has led to such interesting crossovers as Nicole, the female Spartan in Dead Or Alive 4, and the unlockable Hayabusa Armor in Halo 3's multiplayer mode, Itakagi regrets to inform you that, despite his best efforts, there will be no such crossovers in Ninja Gaiden 2. "There had been discussions of making the Gravity Hammer from Halo 3 a weapon in this game," Itakagi says with a heavy heart, "and it would've been really cool, but because they're such different games, that weapon just didn't fit."

I believe this is tied to NG2 using a custom physics engine, which may not have been able to replicate the gravity hammer well.

With all the blood and body parts flying about, you'll be happy to know that Team Ninja is using a physics engine to make everything move realistically. This engine was developed in-house. The team originally considered using the Havok engine. However, while Itagaki feels that this engine might be great for first person shooter games, in a high speed 60 frames per second action game, it's difficult to get adequate performance.

People on CAG have been reporting that they've got their map codes about 4 days after placing their order, and they were also able to easily cancel the pre-order online after getting the map code as well.
