Cave Story and N are good ones.
If you like vertical shooters, definitely try Warning Forever. You just fight a succession of bosses, and how you take them out decides the configuration of the next boss. Fantastic. If you want something weird, see if you can find Super Cosplay War Ultra. And Beats of Rage is pretty good. |

Urban Terror http://www.urbanterror.net/news.php
is my latest addiction. Team based FPS, think counterstrike meets quake 3. Map design can be incredible. CTF on Subway and Prague come to mind as standouts. I own nearly every recent online fps across all platforms yet I still play this nightly. |

As soon as I get off my crappy laggy satellite internet, I will return to playing hours of America's Army. I love that they continue to support the game with new maps and improvements.
Edit: It also didn't hurt that they gave me a disc-based copy after doing the virtual army experience at a local airshow. Last edited by edible_candle : 04-23-2008 at 08:48 PM. |

Voxelstein is not only the best free PC game, it is the best game EVER.
Does shareware count? Because I mean, a lot of shareware games in the early '90s were awesome, because they gave you like half the game for free or cheap. Wacky Wheels shareware was better than Super Mario Kart. Yeah, I said it. N, Cave Story, and Knytt are all good choices as well. |
