The music is great. I'm curious to see how the game plays.Originally Posted by OliveJuice

Engrish?

Art looks awesome! .. but seriously what's up with all the neon-lazers Õ.ô.
About the same as Riviera and Yggdra, really.Originally Posted by justchris
My god, those screens are far too busy. I suspect it's attack animations causing that impression, but I really need to see some gameplay videos.
Looks awesome.
I don't remember Yggdra Union ever having that much crap on screen.Originally Posted by A Black Falcon

Riviera wasn't quite as busy...

Even so, they have a constent trend of liking to put lots of things on the screen.
:lol :lol OK point taken, but once you knew what everything meant it was easy as to understand.Originally Posted by A Black Falcon

A bunch of pics
Of course. Riviera is one of my favorite GBA games. Yggdra wasn't quite as good, but it's still a very good game.Originally Posted by Gig

I wasn't criticizing them for putting a lot of stuff on screen... I was just saying that they do it, so it's no surprise that Knights in the Nightmare is doing it too.
I haven't played Riviera, does it share Yggdra Union's crushing unfairness?Originally Posted by A Black Falcon

They're completely different kinds of games. Yggdra is a strategy game, Riviera a pretty unique kind of RPG (with adventure game elements). But yeah, Riviera isn't anywhere near as cruel as Yggdra. Riviera is really only of moderate difficulty at best... great, great game, but not that hard.Originally Posted by Gig

This thread on it's fairly recent, and good.

Yggdra, though... yeah, that game's just insane.
Yes, that's what I was saying last night. It's really hard to get what the battle system will be like this time around without actually seeing it play out, and that's why I was mostly disappointed there was no video on the site (that, and to see Sting's luscious 2D work). Yggdra Union had a great teaser video right from the start.Originally Posted by kiryogi
Man, I really want to see a movie of this in action. Just to get a feel of how this battle system works. XD On a side note, the engrish has really gotten pretty bad this time around.
Nothing about this game looks crappy to me. I mean, yeah, I think there's a lot of information clutter, but as with Yggdra Union and Riviera, most of that is probably necessary to complement the complex gameplay.Originally Posted by Mato
All these JRTS games. So cruel... You take a look at the pretty art, get yourself excited and then the crappy gameplay pics come and punch you in the face.
I think it would have been better if it healed your characters at least some between missions. Having no way to heal aside from using items... that just made it stupidly hard at times.Originally Posted by botticus
I'm a sucker for Sting games, though it's a painful relationship. I got through Riviera okay, but I had to stop in the middle of Yggdra Union with no way to grind and facing an impossible mission. :(

I am glad Sting decided to make this game
really? What mission was it? I dont remember any impossible missions. The only one that was really hard for me was the one where you had to fight that dinosaur riding general guy.Originally Posted by botticus

I have a hard time remembering (it was at least 6 months ago I put it down), but I wanna say there were a bunch of chicks that were nicely lined up. I'll look it up.Originally Posted by Case

Hmm... I think I was on 13-2:

Looks like there are triggers that I can avoid to skip the rather impossible units. Yay!
Knights in the Nightmare DHE Special Pack - 8190yen
Expect importers to be selling it at about 80 USD. No details about what's in it yet.
Edit: Looking at the title of the LE again, it says DHE Series Special Pack. Maybe it's Riveria, Yggdra and Knights in one package?
I wouldn't say the game is too hard, but the problem is that the game is so unfair. It will make bosses invincible and won't even tell you. The items you use to equip you characters, are also pretty much the only way to heal them. And it all climaxes with a mission where your only option is to take damage. Actually I take that back there is a mission towards the end that is much worse.Originally Posted by Id.
How accessible is Yggdra Union? That's the only Sting game I've missed out on getting.
And lol at the engrish. Quality.
Interest piqued, though I'll wait for a more accessible pricing scheme.Originally Posted by duckroll

Yes, it's obvious that they didn't play test Yggra Union very much. It has more 'bullshit unintuitive fights' than any other game I've ever played, and considering the horrific hassle that even taking damage results in, makes the game absolutely infuriating.Originally Posted by Gig

As I said, all it really needed was easier healing... though yeah, much more warning about invincible enemies would be really, really nice too. I didn't find the plot as interesting as Riviera's was, either... and it was somewhat confusing at times.Originally Posted by cpro
