TtT = Tears to Tiara, a PS3 game which is an adventure game/dating sim/strategy game

ADV, Adventure Game, a.k.a. Visual Novel on this side of the world.

First person text narration over CG backdrops and background music accompanied by sound effects, character sprites with variations for different emotional responses, and occasionally voice acting for most major characters except the narrator.

Almost (though not always) mutually exclusive with voice acting is, depending on genre, sex sequences. Some games try to put some significant meaning with the storyline into it (Fate/Stay), some make it an ending reward sequence (ToHeart & other gal-get games), some are just littered with it all over the place for massive jizzfest (Bible Black).

Contrary to popular belief however, many people do purchase these games for the stories and characters and voice acting, not just the H-scenes, as evidenced by the sales for the PG-versions for consoles.

That price is only normal for a new entry in the SRW series.

Even a GBA port to the PSP in SRW-A costs 6000+ yen.

ADV is like a point and click adventure game, except that its usually doesn't have that much pointing, just clicking a couple of choices here and there. Slightly more interactive than visual novels depending on the game, but not that much more.

Think of it like Phoenix Wright without the court cases.

(I'm not familiar with White Album, soit could be more on teh visual novel side.)

It's true that Image Epoch's next RPG is being announced this week, and it's for a console, and the only console they're working on is the Wii. But nothing from Famitsu has surfaced at all and Dengeki is a PS only magazine.

So Eternal Sonata took one year and three months to port from 360 to PS3, where it is being released for exactly the same price as the 360 version was last year with no substantial extra content known about. Nice job, guys!

Worked for Tales of Symphonia PS2. 13 months later, same price, sold about 25% more than the GCN version.

We see basically nothing of the game in this pic, so I was essentially talking about the scan's quality (the design of the sole piece of artwork shown in the scan being...mmh...potentially debatable :p ).

I'm not quite sure how to interpret that chart. :( I mean on one hand, I think Koei made out OK given the current climate of the console market. They couldn't have expected DW6 to pick up right where 5 left off. On the other hand, I'm now under the impression Koei would've ported it regardless of sales performance.

Edit: Actually, I just suck at reading the chart. Is that 805K for DW6? I can't tell.
