Wasn't this one of the complaints people had about Sonic 06? The mini-games where you would play as Tails, Knuckles, Amy, ect... |

should think twice before lying about games he's never played

The exp. points ruined Sonic Secret Rings. Halfway through the game everything worked perfectly but if you went either too fast or too slow the game was a mess. I'm interested in the city environment though, City Escape in SA2 was pretty awesome. The slowdown could be fixed before release.

I don't wanna sound like a hopeful fanboy here, but none of that seems really game-breaking to me...
The minigame business does sound kinda bad, but since we have no information about it, I think it shouldn't be counted against this title just yet. And I kinda liked the RPG elements in Secret Rings. But it just wasn't a huge deal...definitely not something I thought was particularly great, it was just kinda white noise. Last edited by autobzooty : 07-04-2008 at 01:05 AM. |

Now this has potential... |

Sorry to sound like mr.Sega defense force here, but people seriously need to stop using this "but it's sega" bullshit. Outside of the Sonic series which they can't seem to get right, and all those games they publish of movie licenses (read: publishes) are they seriously as bad as people like to make them out to be? The flak they get sometimes is totally uncalled for. There are far worse game publishers out there that churn out nothing but crap, but Sega has become a right scapegoat.
If they improve on the SATSR RPG elements, combined with the fact that Sonic isn't on rails this time (speed boosters every five inches of the stage not withstanding), AND they don't completely gimp you for the first hour of the game, it could be alright. Hopefully the "mini-games" are not as shite as when you had to take over other characters in Sonic 06, though. =E |

One thing I don't understand about this game is turning around corners. They show Sonic drifting like in a racing game, but what if you simply fail to make the turn? If it's on rails, won't Sonic just automatically turn anyways?
No one has actually played it yet, so I guess we'll all have more accurate feelings after e3. |
