So even generously affording a bump, it's still probably 100k or less across both next gen versions. ahahahaa |

lttp - finally caught up.
BluRay v. DVD: I think the video market will fragment, and different media will cater to different niches. DD will cater to very old and very new titles (think NetFlix DD catalog and Comcast OnDemand catalog). DVD will be "good enough" for most titles. BluRay will have a market for things like Planet Earth specials, collector's editions (incl. sports championships and such). BluRay v. DVD II: Have DVD's replaced CD's as the preferred media for music? Wii launch demand v. ongoing demand: Is there a network / bandwagon effect for console hardware adoption? Does a larger userbase drive more sales because of word-of-mouth, 3rd party support, online & local multiplayer, etc? Then one should never expect the Wii to decline until it begins to approach saturation. Also, saturation typically is not a sudden event where one month = 700k, next month = 0, even in a sold-out scenario (although the supply constraint does make it difficult to model the adoption curve). Wii accessories fragmenting the market: If motion+ is sold as an accessory, it will be successful as an accessory. As for fragmenting the game market, consider that there are > 1 million balance boards out there already. Do we have any numbers for We Ski? |

Where as I think DVD's really took off when they hit the 100 dollar price point for the players. And same with when the DVD computer players hit a lower price point. |

So in the Top 20 Wii: 7 360: 5 NDS: 4 PS2: 2 PS3: 2 That is actually better than I thought for NDS since we usually never see 1 game in the Top 10 No wonder Final Fantasy is coming to 360 as well, thats $$$$ for Square to earn in profit |

This is needless to say, but PS3 software performed pretty badly. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and even DBZ were lower than Call of Duty 4, which didn't even make the top 20.
I bet Game Party and Mario and Sonic at the Olympics (Wii) were right outside the top 20, too. Oh, and where's the PSP list? |

Fuel on the fire that I haven't seen (read) posted yet:
What about on the computer front? Files are only going to be getting bigger and bigger. I don't see a scenario where Blu-ray wouldn't take over on the PC side. Heck, you're going to need some space for all those digital downloads. Unless the retail market switches to selling software on flash (which is a viable replacement for disks, on the PC market,) if users want big portable size, Blu-ray is where it's at. |

In a year or two, typical high level PC games will be 10+ gigs on average, and I really don't want to deal with those games burning on to multiple discs. |

Third, US totals using periods to separate the thousands and hundreds... WTF is wrong with you Captain Smoker. |

If we assume linear differences to get a somewhat closer idea of the numbers:
