First I gotta say SC4 is THE best SC out.... (there i said it) .... new patch is a revision of a lot of major bugs and balance issues... FIXED... I haven't downloaded this yet.. and according to Chang's Friend (another Hong Kong player... it's only available for JP version now..) anyways.. here's his test results (I got internet +PS3 connection problems + using an american version... he's got all versions even xbox) i'm sure this is no where the complete list.. but the following nerfs imo... are imo much needed.. some more than others, but in general i agree with all the changes. These are the stuff he told me... System Changes - Soul Crushes are harder to pull off (moves generally take off less from the soul gauge) + You can JI throws + laggy stage are much improved but not completely fixed Ivy: - SW WS B is FIXED.... it hits TOTALLY different, SW WS B -> BT A+B no longer forward RO and can't follow up with the old combo, so no more infinites.. - whip 6A+B does less damage + JF CS is easier to do (window is bigger) - whip 3B worse recover - CS range seems to be shorter... it's covers around 'one character width' away (hm... don't know how to translate that but you can go figure) Algol: -3B~41236B->3B - damage scaled down to 70 (before was 90) -if 22B is hit in the air... it no longer provides a stun for 2A+B to bounce juggle -8A+B in juggles will set them flying backwards... for BT B+K so 33B -> 8A+B -> BT B+K ... it does horrible damage compared to before... he mentioned something like 50? yeah -66A+G throw pushes further back Cassandra: - 66B+K doesn't pick up the opponent like before... - you can do five i236[B] in a row lol... (probably shitty damage) - 66A+B on airborne can NOT connect the 4 jf - 236[B] recovery on block is worse you're looking at BB for most characters Sophitia: -BB damage is weaker now -3A+B hit airborne once Yoshimitsu: -a:B+K damage is weaker, and can not follow up with 3AB UNLESS you do 2a:B before that.... making it harder -44bA no longer rapes soul gauge like before.. takes around four 44bA against the wall for CF... not like before two 44bA no walls..... - after a:B+K vs airborne (in juggle), 66B can be teched to the left (but i'm sure he didn't test it against all characters.....and no we don't plan to test against all characters) Amy: -3BA no longer rapes soul gauge does less damage Raphael: - BB no longer tracks like no tomorrow... Setsuka: -A+G throw is 5 less damage Voldo: - BS 236A no longer stuns - BS 22B won't relaunch the airborne opponent - combo damage is weaker Astaroth: - 6K is -14 Xianghua: + 214B+G B hits Astaroth Talim: - A+K Tech Jump time is less Cervantes: -11K has less advantage on block - regular hit 3B can not connect i214B+K only CH version can. Things NOT fixed: - Cass 1K still misses LM - Kilik's MO A still goes through Maxi. - Xianghua's command throw doesn't work on Lizardman (i need to check this one.) these are the changes he found so far... i'm sure when you guys start playing or when he plays more he'll know but i gotta say i'm loving this game.. if namco is willing to fix this stuff expect the game to only get better -LAU

Just got prompted for an update for the (J)360 version. Assuming it's the same patch that PS3 got last week. Today I finally got 30 honors/achievements for both the PS3 and 360 versions. I also find that while PS3 typically has less players on when I am playing, there are more skilled people playing that version. 360 has more people but it's easier to win; I'm over level 30 on 360 ranked but only at 22 on PS3. Is it just me or have any other double-dippers noticed this?

Lowercase to Uppercase means slide your finger from one button to the other. Or, try to remove any delay from going between the buttons without pushing them at the same time.

One example is Xianghua's aK B, so slide your finger from the A button to the K button and then press B.

I just entered a 24-hour Soul Calibur IV marathon. Managed to get into the final 8, but lost to the person who eventually became the champion (he won a HDTV & a PS3).

I must say, once ppl entered close quarters combat with Seong Mina (who I chose), it's hard to fight back, especially if they're fast characters like Taki or Sophitia :(

QFT... level 45 is tough, Uber-Taki kicking my ass every single time. My current tactic is to try and Critical Finish her using Yun-Seong and his Avenging Claws attack, I've got most success with that method.

I'm not sure either. The file sizes for the DLC seem real enough. Maybe the DLC are included in update patches?

Pretty much all the DLC is on the disc. Even if I didn't buy the DLC, it's stored there for easy access should I play someone who has bought it.

In that respect, they've planned out all their DLC already, though I hear it's possible to patch in new DLC to "lie dormant" until purchased, or just to use (apparently Forza 2 did this with Cars too or something)

Guys, there is no conflict when playing online because all the DLC this game will ever have is already on the disc. That pumpkin? It's a 108kb unlock key. Christmas costumes and Yoda/Vader will be unlocked via keys as well. This is Scamco we are talking about.

The last update was over 25 megs. I don't think 25 megs justifies "small tweaks" like character balancing and in-game voice chat.

It's that size on PS3, but the same packs are tiny 108kb files in the Xbox 360 version. I don't get why there is a size difference.
