Wario Land is the big disappointment though. Was there not any hype for this game? Any marketing? Or was it dropped on the public in typical Nintendo fashion?

Interesting. Wii software has unusual legs in that it tends to sell well over time. I guess I'm just desensitized by most games being front-loaded. Still, I doubt we'll see Wario push anything too note-worthy over time.
