boa - Get There - Yeah, I know, I found out about them through serial experiments lain, but this second album of theirs is just so awesome.

Fischerspooner- The Best Revenge - I need to hear a new full album by this group, electroclash of this caliber rocks my world.

t.A.T.u. - Люди Инвалиды (Lyudi Invalidy, English: Invalid People) - Say what you want, but this is damn good synth music.

Kylie Minogue - X - Seriously, this album is way too much fun. Do yourselves a favor, go listen to Magnetic Electric and tell me you didn't find it fun. I dare you.

Katy Perry - One of the Boys - ... I listed it here to piss you guys off, I admit. But it's really just trashy pop music fun, and I love it.

Shikao Suga - Time - This is what I am listening to right now as I post this.

Sorry if some of the album artwork is too big, I didn't want to spend all day re-sizing it just to post here.

any violin fans in here?

I am looking for some really nice and harmonic violin music but I am stuck and dont know what to look for... can someone here recommend me some stuff like that?

I also really love Sigur ros and would kill for something in that direction aswell but so far I have found none

Alright, finally grabbed some new albums.

The National - The Virginia EP (comes packed with a skin, a night)
More like a full b-sides album than an EP, and I love it. Every track is solid.

Okkervil River - The Stand Ins
Some filler tracks make it seem longer than it actually is, but what's there is cool. Bonus points for the awesome album cover, too.

Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid
Elbow is always good to relax to.

Calexico - Carried to Dust
Not as good as their previous efforts, but there's some cool songs here and it really grows.

It's a very good album, no doubt. Bloodshy & Avant were on fire last year. I'd go as far as to say it's her best album since Enjoy Yourself and Rhythm of Love, though still not quite on par with either respectively.

Hearing the Pete Hammond remix I posted earlier makes me think of how rad it would be for Kylie - even for cheap nostalgia's sake - to record a good ol' fashioned PWL track again. The sound still works, and good melodic bubblegum pop will always be in vogue to some degree (especially for someone like Kylie who has the perfect cute voice for sacchrine pop).

It sounds like a good idea, but I kind of want her to go the other way, continuing down this very stylized path she's on right now. Taking steps backward isn't ever recommended in pop music. And besides, this sound she's got now really works for her and she's been pretty smart with her career for the past 10 years, so I'm sure that whatever comes next will continue to work to her advantage and maintain her dance-pop trailblazer image.

... but listen to us, talking pop music in a thread like this, we must seem SO out of place. Continue displaying your metal collections, folks!

I'm looking for an old song that I remember and love but can't remember the name. Argh, so frustrating!

I think it's by a european artist, and the music video is really sad. It features a border collie being sent to space, and at the end you see the dog in the shuttle with the owner's photo.

Anyone know its name?

Image of the house is apparently the cover of David Byrne & Brian Eno's Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, which I like, but can't help but feel somewhat disappointed by, not only because of their otherwise stellar history together, but from getting so hyped by the single, Strange Overtones, a promise very little of the album lives up to.

What a difference between back then and what Armin plays now. It's like they are 2 different DJs... now you can just expect a bunch of Tyas songs and emo vocal trance, with one or two Dubfire tracks thrown in there so Armin can say he plays 'minimal'.

Not sure why they pulled it, pretty fuckin brilliant. I preferred the original version of Lucio Starts Fires but it's still a great song. Should be interesting to hear how everything turns out next year.

Aw man she is amazing. I didn't know who she was when I saw her last fall and I was just taken aback by how beautiful her voice is. "All I Ever Wanted" off of that album is so good, as well as the rest of the songs. Definitely check out more modern folk. It has been really good lately.

God, I'm gone two days (seeing Radiohead in WA) and Deerhunter/Atlas Sound both have albums leaked.

Deerhunter's record Microcastle got leaked 5 months early in May. To combat this, the band secretly records a second album to go with the regular one as a bonus when it comes out. This past week, Bradford (on the band's blog) releases two personal EPs but doesn't realize it links to his private folder.

Holding:

Deerhunter - Weird Era Cont.
Atlas Sound - Logos (unmastered)

Two Deerhunter records in three months, and this is the second Atlas Sound record of the year. WTF!!!
