Never thought i'd be fighting someone online in Chrono Trigger. Really want to see how that'll look in action.

Seems North America gets it first.

According to a couple sites the date for Chrono Trigger DS in Japan is Nov. 27

I'd remove the link, they have the Jump scans on that page.

Dont have time for both. I really liked DQ8, even if DQ4 is only 1/10 as awesome, I would still enjoy it. Never really played CT. A friend of mine cant stop recommending it though ...

I don't think DQIV is only 1/10 as awesome. In fact, out of the ones I have played I think DQIV is my favorite... but then there is chrono trigger.

Really? There's almost a two month window between the games. You can't beat DQ4 by the end of november?

Just sayin'. Both are great and it'd be a shame to miss either one.

If you can only buy one I say support Dragon Quest in North America, don't reward lazy ports. If you can, buy and play both.

If you do only purchase one, get Dragon Quest IV. It's a small miracle that IV, V and VI are coming to North America. IV is an extremely solid JRPG that excels in all areas.

I like Chrono Trigger a lot, but I can't say I'm just oozing with anticipation of playing it on DS. I'm pretty sure I'll buy it though.

The Dragon Quest franchise definitely needs your support in the west, so I would urge you to buy that one if you had to choose. Both are really great games, though, so you won't go wrong with either one.

Yeah, CT will sell in the US so go with DQIV. I've got it pre-ordered and half paid already. CT will be day one as well.

Yeah, support DQ4! Still, it's a full-fledged remake (based on a previous remake...) VS a complete port with only a few new things thrown in, so yeah...

Make time. :( I will say that I much prefer SNES Chrono Trigger over NES Dragon Quest IV, but all of my quibbles with the NES version of DQIV have been changed, so we'll see how that goes. Either way, though, both are entirely outstanding games and always have been.

support DQIV, please! This is what we've TRULY been waiting for; the eventual chance to play a localized DQVI ^o^

and after you finish that, you are free to get CT. hehe

Chrono Trigger is a DEAD franchise, supporting this game is the only way it will ever come back. Its do or die, simply put.

Dragon Quest? There will always be Dragon Quest.

In Japan. In the west, Dragon Quest is twisting in the wind.

for western releases? that's the issue here, so it needs to be supported in order to ensure that at least spin-offs such as Rocket Slime come over~

So it has orchestral arrangements of the Chrono Trigger theme and then a medley of 7 tracks (Premonition, Guardia Millenium Fair, Wind Scene, Frog's Theme, Epilogue ~To Good Friends~, To Far Away Times).

(don't know if those are the official translations, just used the first google hit)

While this is a Chrono Trigger thread, I too would cast my vote with DQIV if you had to choose one, just because of how tenuous a grip DQ has in the West: every sale counts.

Now, you said you only had time for one... Why not buy both and then you can always play whichever one you can first, and get to the other later?

I'm ok with the delay, like others have said it's a very busy holiday season for games (big shock, I know).

And like Dragona said, we can put our DS monies towards DQIV this Fall instead. While I've played through CT countless times, I never owned DWIV back in the day so I'm pretty jazzed to play it. And in the Spring I can hold on to my naive belief that if CT sells through the roof maybe Square-Enix will give us another Chrono game someday. Win/win.

The videos aren't playing for me so I can't see the font you guys are talking about, but bothering to make it smaller seems kinda weird. Even with one screen the loss of resolution from the SNES original is pretty low, but with two screens there's much more room to play with.

Of all the things that might potentially have kicked Kirby Super Star Ultra (ninth favorite game ever) over Chrono Trigger DS (fifth favorite) on my list of most-wanted games, I have to admit I didn't see font size coming.

The original Chrono Trigger font is so comforting and nostalgic. The new font is..... strangely tiny.

Oh well, I got over the font changes in the Final Fantasy GBA ports, I'll get over this too.

yuck it looks similar to the snes version graphically..

I was hoping for a full overhall reminesant of FF4 which has been awesome.

I might get this game.. but i'd rather pay $8 for the original on VC than a remake that looks like a port
