The All Formats Top 5 are all non-movers this week with ‘Mario Kart Wii’ at No1 for a second week ahead of Wii Fit - sales of both are up 12%, while Sega’s Olympic duo remain at No’s 3 and 4 with Wii Play at No5.
Half the All Formats Top 10 is made up of party/mini game titles with ‘Carnival: Funfair Games’ breaking back into the Top 10, up from No13 to No6 thanks to the launch of the DS version of Take 2’s hugely successful party game. THQ’s top-sellers both improve on last week: ‘Big Beach Sports’ up one place to No7 and ‘Wall-E’ up from No11 to No9. ‘Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training’ moves up one place to No8 and has now spent a record-breaking 80 weeks in the All Formats Top 10, beating ‘Tomb Raider’ which managed 79 weeks. No new releases make the All Formats Top 40, but 2 week-old titles from Eidos and Empire make progress in the chart: Eidos’ ‘Summer Athletics’ up from No25 to No12 and Empire’s ‘Off Road’ making its first Top 40 appearance at No28.
Please note that with the recent launch of Platinum PS3 games, we have this week included PS3 Budget and Full Price charts

Is Super Swing Golf the sequel to Pangya Golf?
Isn't this version supposed to be the best golf game on Wii?

I'm surprised Beijing is no.1 in Norway in the final Olympic week.
It's been lower in previous weeks.

The sales tracking for Norway in this thread wasn't from the final Olympic week, but from the previous week.

Not really a sequel, more like a spinoff. Pangya is a MMO golf game, Super Swing has no online, so... They share a bunch of characters and courses, but that's about it.

edit : maybe I misunderstood you and you were just asking if it was the sequel to the first SSG (or pangya) game on Wii. If so, yeah it is. Added the "Season 2" for great justice.

Still no Chart-Track? :(

And I personally think this years Tiger Woods will be good enough to warrant a purchase and then possible upgrade next year. I'd rather have Mario Golf motionPlus though...

Ed: YAY - streamlined out the duplicate chart track data.

UK
Wii - 14
NDS - 14
360 - 6
PS3 - 5
PS2 - 1

The summer of Nintendo continues.

PS3 GTA4 makes a reappearance, with 360 right behind it. Were there any offers on this week on the title?

What the hell is Off Road? Also, nice to see No More Heroes is still in the Wii top 50. Not saying much I guess, but I didn't expect it to be there.

Not to my knowledge, but sales across that part of the chart were probably quite low this week so the steady sellers did OK.

If Tiger Woods Wii can outsell Tiger Woods 360 in it's launch week then things will get interesting...

I think it will. When do we find out?

edit:next week.

Looking at last year the 360 was 42% to 32% in launch week but after that the Wii outsold it. The UK has swung massively towards the Wii since then.

Well UK launch week is 2 days, this Friday and Saturday. Most of the 'core' gamers will preorder their titles (mostly online) but the 'casuals' will not. It's all a question of whether the mindset of the typical gamer (between the two) will go 360 or Wii in those 2 days. I'm thinking that 2nd week belongs to Wii, but those first 2 days are a big ask. PS3 also splits the HD vote more than ever this year.

GAMEPLAY has the wii version 3rd behind 360 and PS3 on pre-orders but also behind a sims pack and Too Human. Should be the first exciting chart week in a while.

My current thinking is get the Wii one on launch and 10 day it if it doesn't live up to my lofty expectations.

These things keep boggling my mind. Who the hell is interested in Counter-Strike Source and don´t have a copy by now?

That is a ton of mini-game compilations. I wonder how many can be released before they start to cannibalize each others sales?

Wii hardware sales must be astronomic to explain such software domination. Quite incredible, and the wiiboard seems to be selling even more than in Japan. As a result most games in 2009 could support this peripheral. I like that.

During my trip to a nearby city I counted 50 Mario Kart Wii's at one store and they had more behind the counter. Each store had about 10-20 Wii's in stock and WiiFit was available as well. In every store people ask about the same thing, Wii or something related to Wii. They jump for joy when the stores actually have some stock and NoE has been ramping up shipments in the Netherlands like crazy.
