Hmm interesting.

Infinite Undiscovery sold slightly more by media create's count. I wonder if 360 will beat Wii here too?

Given that Wii numbers as of late have been much higher on Media Create than Famitsu I slightly doubt it, but it would be cool if so.

Still amazed at pokemon.

IU got closer to ToV's opening than I expected. Too bad ToV seems to be kinda lost in the fray now. :/

Pokemon still has a great deal of pulling power, though its legs aren't quite as long as they were in the RGBY days.

What was the difference between 360 and Wii in Famitsu again?

28.7k vs. 27.1k

Close enough that MC will probably have Wii higher. I'm guessing 31/26

Not really. ToV has been in the MC/Famitsu Top 50 every week since debut, and never below #33, I believe (which was last week). That's very unique for a X360 IP. Only Blue Dragon ever had those kind of legs in the Top-50.

And with the price jump bumping ToV an extra 2,000 units (or so), I would think that it has another 2 weeks or more in the T-50.

Well it's still in the top 50 of course, but I what I meant is that it disappeared from the top 10 faster than I expected.

I knew 360 games aren't super-hits or anything, but I never really payed attention to how they sold until about a month ago.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
Yay IU! :D

I hope it doesn't drop off completely next week, please at least make the top 50! D:

I take it that MC is considered more accurate over the short term then. Do they have a history of misunderestimating the Wii?

I don't think either is considered more "accurate." They just sample different stores and come to slightly different conclusions. Famitsu is widely used for software because they provide numbers deep into the chart.

Judgments of accuracy should be reserved for individuals and their hokey little sites that make up numbers and pretend that they're real.

Well Tales is doing all right, so I expect IU will do at least as well, considering it had a better first week.

Infinite Undiscovery looks to be another good offering for the xbox360 owners in Japan. Guess this game is one of the reasons the xbox360 has been doing so well there

Go Go Go Platinum!

Huh? You expect it to do better because Tales had a better first week?

How do the one piece #s compare to the previous one piece?
Edit answer to my own question :p
71+-+One+Piece%3A+Unlimited+Adventure+-+Wii

So this one piece is slightly higher by about 6k but it's neglible cause of different trackers..

07.00. [WII] One Piece: Unlimited Adventure (Bandai-Namco) - 40,003 / NEW
Seems like it's quite an improvement from last year then, about 21k.

Just for reference what were the Blue Dragon/Lost Odyssey first week hardware bumps? I don't think they were this big, Blue Dragon was around 20k right?

Bravo, Microsoft. :lol

I doubt it will stay this way for long, but enjoy the ride as long as possible. This thread is gonna be awesome.

Blue Dragon Launch in Japan: Dec 2006 -- a week or several after the 360 itself launched.
Lost Odyssey Launch in Japan: Dec 2007

I don't really see any bumps. This could be its biggest post-launch week ever.

I was wondering if anyone can confirm something I just read. I was reading sinobi's blog at ameblo (he's the guy that always gets the first day numbers right?) and he said two interesting things in regards to the 360. First, he says that he thinks the 360 would've won by a large amount if more/enough units were shipped, and second that he hopes MS fixes the hardware shortage situation soon. This was posted today.

So, if this is true, is the 360 still not fully stocked in Japan yet? If so, what do you all think this will mean for sales next week?

Considering it started at 21k and broke 100k, maybe this one can make it to 200k? Either way, I'm sure between both parts 1 and 2 it should be an easy feat.

Well last year One Piece started at 40k in opening week, the 21k is the difference between this years and last years. so this has a chance of breaking 150k i guess...

aren't those numbers fake? can someone give a source ( a link to a reputable site ) please ?

I thought he was just reposting the Famitsu numbers from the other thread (didn't look to compare) - the MC hardware numbers don't come out until tomorrow, correct?

EDIT: these were the Famitsu numbers from the other thread. Look to be the same, just rounded.

NDS: 63.000
360: 28.681
WII: 27.057
PSP: 26.000
PS3: 8.050
PS2: 7.500

I thought it was an unmarked prediction (bannage), but I wasn't going to say anything until somebody else spoke up. Groupthink!
