I thought it was the opposite – I thought Sydney made you buy seperate tickets? I remember being able to use my train ticket on buses.

Or maybe I'm just going fucking crazy.

You can still use metcards (the paper ticket things) for everything like normal, but the totally fucked up myki cards are trains only for now, buses and trams aren't until the end of the year or something. So if you use more than just trains you should just keep using metcards and leave myki alone.

So local sleuths, any idea on when Australia gets White Knight Chronicles or do I have to import?

The only thing that will hurt is the fact that P-A are charging $65 USD for it. WTF.

Adelaide has a one-ticket system, but it's still a (hard) paper ticket. No "zoning" price difference like in Brisbane.

For anyone waiting for Dante's Inferno. Went to GAME about an hour ago and they said they get stock this afternoon and will sell as soon as they get it.

$109 at GAME though. Full of fail and lose.

I fear for the days when the dollar plummets again and we look back at how we balked about paying $80AU for a game and crying salty tears.

:(

Seriously, Steam is gonna suck again if the dollar ever collapses to 50c.

They have Darksiders on their Trade-1 eligibility list, which means you can get Dante's Inferno for Darksiders + $39.95.

Just import it, you can get it for $73 shipped from 365games.co.uk, maybe cheaper if it's region free on Play Asia (no details yet).

I think I'll trade in Borderlands... I really need to stop buying FPS games. I'll never learn :lol
Edit: Saboteur is on Game's list, too... I should finish that ASAP and find something else I want.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but then I wouldn't say it's a bad game either. Like Dead Space (same developers), they take a genre and do all the right things but nothing stupidly awesome.

I've been a fan of the art direction since I heard about the game. So I've been on board for a while now. It has boobs and dead things. My favourite combination.

Looking at evlcookie's chart (useful little thing :P) it seems like 23-24 people have it. I want to get but can't right now, so i guess I'll wait until the next time it goes on sale.

HDD manufacturers label and make the HDDs using 1000 bytes = 1kb (kilobyte), 1000kb = 1mb (megabyte) and so on. But according to computers 1024 bytes = 1 kb, 1024 kb = 1 mb and so on. So, computer always will recognize less space due to different measurement values.

The whole kilo measurement, in terms of bits or bytes, is fairly ambiguous. I believe the IEEE recommends kilo be used when referring to powers of 1000 (i.e. what HDD manufacturers) and kibi for powers of 1024.

In terms of computers recognising space, it's not really about recognising a diferent amount of space but measuring it differently. I believe OSX 10.6 and some Linux versions (all?) measure storage using a decimal (1000) interpretation of kilo.

A good place to buy band merch? Posters, shirts, whatevers? Apart from the official band site which can be crazy in shipping prices. Kinda like a cdwow or zavvi site but just for band merch.

try ryda.com.au

we recently bought a panasonic dmc-ft1 from them after looking around for the best click-and-shoot water/shock proof camera. we checked the prices from ebay, different online shops, and retail shops. we checked if it was cheaper to get from an overseas seller, if local warrantly was available, and any extras. we found out that ryda offers the best value for money. best of all if your in NSW you can just go to their store and buy it there directly.

funny thing is, ryda is also where we got our GPS sometime back because they offer the best value for money.

hope that helps.

Awesome news indeed. I honestly thought iiNet was fucked. I mean, look at the list of companies against them:

Village Roadshow, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, 20th Century Fox and Disney, as well as the Seven Network.

I am actually shocked the system worked in this instance in the face of all that money. That's almost limitless funds for a case for the other side.

Here's a good quote in the comments to the SMH article:

Quote:
AFACTS picked on iinet because they were big enough to take notice of, but small enough to worry about the cost of the trial.

Clearly they had no inclination to take on Telstra or SIngtel Optus. THe recording industry is a bunch of outdated dinosaurs skulking around bullying people who dare to think and act with the times.

These dinosaurs have to change their model to allow us to purchase, see and hear the content the way WE want, without stealing it or having to watch it when the tv says we do.

I applaud this decision and hope that the media companies take this as a further nail in the coffin of their prehistoric practices.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Get with the mother fucking times film industry.

I assume this is run of the mill for CDWow? I just noticed that ME2 was on backorder and asked them when the next shipment would come and that was their answer. I understand the hate for their shipping now :lol

It's their standard for new releases and anything that isn't marked "in stock". You need to be careful with CD Wow and go in knowing there may be delays (or rather, will be) with preorders/new releases and weigh that up against the price. Beyond that issue, I have had no other problems with CD Wow and they were very helpful when an item went missing in transit over the Christmas period (full refund acquired, no hassles).
