PSN Latinoamerica is ON!!! (No PSN Store Yet)
#1
Im From Colombia, and the last night I create a account with all my original Data (Colombian Address, Phone number, Etc.) and works Fine, the only problem is... The PSN Store No works Yet, But... I can play Online With This Account!
I think the PSN Store will be available in 2009 Thanks For that Sony!!! PD: In the last days... the only way to play Online with my PS3 was create a US Account with Fake Data (a Hotel Address, Phone Number, Etc.) |

I remember when the original XBOX was the only console that an actual launch in Latin America, but that was a few years after release. I believe the PSP had a recent official release too? |

This is supposed to be noteworthy in any way? It's just half-arsed support from Sony. I'm sure this will make the OP happy and maybe some others from his country, but isn't it far from what the OP would want ideally, ie proper support from Sony for his country? As a side question, I do wonder what barriers are in place internally with the game companies that prevent them from supporting countries such as Columbia. Is it cost? Something else? |

But I would guess that just as a Colombia database was added, it was the same for any other Latin American country, therefore showing that Sony finally cares about this market. Protip: Sony never care before about this market during the PS1 and PS2 years. That's why the piracy for these 2 consoles was so big, since besides the obvious cost problem, there was almost not a single place where to buy original PS games. Now, this won't solve any piracy problems, but it does show that Sony is taking LA into account and that a PSN LA store might be in the plans for next year. |

I suppose you can't transfer you friendlist and trophies, so it's kinda pointless in my case.

This is worthless until The PSN store is up. I've been downloading demos and free stuff with a US account for a while and I'll keep doing the same.
We have to be honest here: Microsoft has awesome infrastructure for LIVE in Mexico. It mirrors the US LIVE service perfectly -even the Marketplace-. I don't know how it's for the other countries in LA... |
