Famitsu also states that the game on its own is 40-60 hours long, and about 80 hours if you complete all the optional stuff.

?-grade and famitsu scores are related in the same way as , say, the length of PM Dawn's rake is linked to the weekly sales of biros in Germany.

We have to know what else the review says about it. Well, after this, just another good review from any other site, and I'll be getting it day 1, still had my doubts.

So which B-Grade Square Enix RPG has been given a similar grade by Famitsu in the past then?

And don't even think about saying FF12.

New shots shown are quite nice. Didn't think my local would be selling this baby early! Working on translating it all with the rest of the interesting stuff. Should be up later once I finish doing other pirate-like things.

edit: can speed up combat

It smells enough like SaGa, what with no field maps at all. You just go through towns and dungeons through a picture of a map :-/

I just wonder how you can make that into a 40-60 hour RPG without any exploration. Me thinks that the dungeons will be plentiful of fights. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.

Haven't been a fan of the little ive seen so far, and Famitsu is pretty terrible when it comes to reviews, but im glad to see it get such a high rating just to tone down all the trolls roaming in the Last Remnant thread. Nothing better then the bitter tears of a fanboy.

Will be really interesting to see more reviews though.

i'd rather not concentrate on what Square Enix RPG they've given poor marks to, but rather the fact that Famitsu reviews aren't to be trusted. Period.

Which fanboys shed bitter tears when a multi-platform game scores well?

. . . All of them?

Oh... That's some good news. In retrospect, though, how much did Infinite Undiscovery get in Famitsu? That game was a huge disappointment.

Unexpected. Still curious to see how well it will do in US/EU outlets. Also, a release window for the PC/PS3 versions would be nice, and if they'll be adding anything to them for the wait.

i think this is more the whatdog.gif effect of this game looking anything BUT a AAA-class game. It's more to do with Famitsu and their baffling place in peoples perceptions as a good review source.

If there is any DLC for the 360 version, then that probably will be it.

I think Infinite Undiscovery got 32/40. I'm definitely surprised with this Last Remnant score. I hope the game delivers.

Cannot freely use techs during battle so at first it was confusing, but once you can assemble a union it becomes interesting to make decisions on the formations and arrangements. Round 1 (each round?)'s battle is long but it's not a problem. Subquests are fun with no end in sight. It screams "Buy this next week~!" It's got a unique style, but it's a very
memorable masterpiece. I can't wait to continue!

Regardless of how reliable Famitsu reviews are, the fact that its getting a higher digit makes you wonder...is it good good, or is it bullshit good? Cuz sometimes its hard to tell with these Famitsu editors...
