They're virtually identical in every other respect. |

If a friend has a game that i am interested in than i would try to get as many trophies as i could though, might as well. Any other thoughts I think Trophies are a very good idea, im a big gamer but i never got into the 360's gamerscore as it was just a random number. With trophies though it has almost made playing games a game if you will, the fact you have a level and a specific number of each trophy gives a better perspective on how good you or someone else is at each game and its different challenges. Im hoping that the rumors about getting special items/access and what not depending on what level you are is true as i think it would be a great insentive and reward for the people who have managed certain tasks or got to a certain level. On a sidenote i just got into Home and was wondering, when it goes open will we be getting our Trophy room? Also is there any info on other areas/items/personal appearance items that will be coming out too? |

I'm level five or six and have one platinum (Uncharted). I don't really care about my level or how many trophies I have, but love trying to get as close to 100% as possible in every game I own, and like comparing percentages with players in my friends list.
And the silver trophies in the SSHD SP expansion can go fuck themselves. |

I like them.
I own like 6 PS3 games and 4 of them support trophies (Wipeout HD, Burnout Paradise, LBP and Uncharted). I'm actually pissed that i won a copy of Saints Row 2 and it doesn't fucking support trophies. It is an important feature when i decide which game to buy (do you hear me Volition!!?). |

I think I'm at level 0, and I don't really care for them. I like achievements more, though.

Level 7, about halfway to 8 ~360 trophies
I haven't played Fallout yet because I know trophies are coming soon. If I didn't know they were coming I probably would have played it already. I wouldn't buy a game just for trophies. In fact I would be embarrassed to have a shoddy game represented on my trophy list. |

Uncharted: Disappointed since it's exactly the same as in-game medals. Yes the game is awesome to play it again, but it would have been even better to implement some new trophies. GTA 4: Absolutely ridiculous online trophies. Not only is it a grind fest, the server has problem registering some of the records. The online portion of the game is pretty mediocre to begin with. Burnout Paradise: Pretty good implementation of trophies all around. There are some difficult ones but nothing too ridiculous. Mirror's Edge: Hardest trophies I've played so far. It's very frustrating on some of the time trials with such a imprecise control. But at least they are all doable. Resistance 2: Decent trophies except the 10K kill on competitive. Too much grinding and total fail for not allowing players to pick games. Last edited by linsivvi : 11-26-2008 at 06:17 PM. |

I downloaded the Super Stardust HD demo but chose not to buy it. Now I'm stuck with a 0% achievement rating for the bloody game attached to my profile, just like the old Xbox Live arcade demos used to.
When Sony steal an idea, they really take everything, don't they? |

So far I'm level 4 with 12%, and I don't have one gold trophy yet. Here's my take on the trophies for the games I do have.
Pixeljunk Eden: Great and hard trophies. I've only got 9% in this category, but there are some good hard ones. Super Stardust HD: Kind of interesting, it's taking a while to get the expansion trophies but the game is hard enough to make it interesting. WipEout HD: I like this trophies EXCEPT Bling Brigade. There are too many trophies that are dependent on other people... which brings me to my next trophy list. LittleBigPlanet: HORRIBLE trophies. Most of the main trophies depend on the general public to not play the "get all the trophies" levels. If you don't have enough friends to get the Party Person trophy, it's impossible to finish. The online is horrendous and also makes the Socialite trophy seem like a test of your patience. Resistance 2: I like all of the trophies in this game, even the 10,000 kills trophy. It gives you some goals to shoot for since they aren't dependent on other people's tastes. |

I think they are piss-poor at the moment, for various reasons.
1) Games are STILL coming out that don't support them - Pitiful. 2) They are "hidden" in the UI so that I have to go look for them and my status, which doesn't keep them in the forefront of my mind. They need to make your "level" constantly visible. 3) When I do go look at it there is an annoying delay. As it stands right now I just don't give a shit about them. |
