It may be stupid, but the achievement sound is like a little cheer. I wish Sony would design a small, satisfying sound file for a trophy message.

Seriously, what? There both presented in a list with a little fairly nondescript icon and an explanation. The one thing I'd like is if I press the PS button whilst the trophy notification is up it'd take me straight to the trophy list like it does on 360, but that's it. They're virtually identical in every other respect.

too many games to "waste" time unlocking trophies, cool feature though, loved it when playing Warhawk and re-playing Uncharted.

How are you doing?
Level 5 at the moment, around 53% IIRC
107 Bronze, 22 Silver, 7 Gold and 2 Platinum

Do you require them in your games
No but i do think they are a great addition

Do you buy or play games you normally wouldn't for them
No i wouldnt, i never understood the 360 people who would buy/rent as many games as they could just to get points. If a friend has a game that i am interested in than i would try to get as many trophies as i could though, might as well.

Any other thoughts
I think Trophies are a very good idea, im a big gamer but i never got into the 360's gamerscore as it was just a random number. With trophies though it has almost made playing games a game if you will, the fact you have a level and a specific number of each trophy gives a better perspective on how good you or someone else is at each game and its different challenges.

Im hoping that the rumors about getting special items/access and what not depending on what level you are is true as i think it would be a great insentive and reward for the people who have managed certain tasks or got to a certain level.

On a sidenote i just got into Home and was wondering, when it goes open will we be getting our Trophy room? Also is there any info on other areas/items/personal appearance items that will be coming out too?

They turned up the volume with the last update, but it still isn't that loud. Do you have notifications turned off? That might affect the volume.

Level 5. That platinum trophy for uncharted (my only one) was a pain to get!

I think I was either late level 3 or early 4.

Mercenaries 2 and Motorstorm 2 have added a lot of trophies to my collection.

Does the new Tomb Raider have trophies?

Err, that's not auto syncing... sure there isn't a "sync button" but you still have to manually visit your trophies in order to initiate a sync. Either way you've gotta stare at a stupid progress bar which sucks and is unnecessary. Trophy data should just sync automatically in the background right after unlocking one like Achievements do.

I'm level five or six and have one platinum (Uncharted). I don't really care about my level or how many trophies I have, but love trying to get as close to 100% as possible in every game I own, and like comparing percentages with players in my friends list.

And the silver trophies in the SSHD SP expansion can go fuck themselves.

I like them.

I own like 6 PS3 games and 4 of them support trophies (Wipeout HD, Burnout Paradise, LBP and Uncharted).

I'm actually pissed that i won a copy of Saints Row 2 and it doesn't fucking support trophies.

It is an important feature when i decide which game to buy (do you hear me Volition!!?).

I think I'm at level 0, and I don't really care for them. I like achievements more, though.

Level 3...

Personally, I enjoy going after the trophies.

I also wish the trophy sound was louder.....I cant hear anything, only see the little notification pop up.

But how does it work?

Level 7, about halfway to 8 ~360 trophies

I haven't played Fallout yet because I know trophies are coming soon. If I didn't know they were coming I probably would have played it already.

I wouldn't buy a game just for trophies. In fact I would be embarrassed to have a shoddy game represented on my trophy list.

They're going to be worthless until Sony figures out how to make them visible on the web site.

Yeah I got Age of Booty and it doesn't have trophies, that piss me off because that just shows that Capcom is lazy.

They are a waste of time.
Who the hell has time to get 100%?
Same goes for Xbox 2's system, I had that for a few months and didn't even crack 1000 points with the 8 games that i had for it.

Wow, same here. Also level 7 and holding on to Fallout 3 until later. There are so many other games to play at the moment anyway. I also won't buy a game for trophies, but I might consider the PC version if a game doesn't have trophy support, especially if the PC port is not a lazy one.

Uncharted: Disappointed since it's exactly the same as in-game medals. Yes the game is awesome to play it again, but it would have been even better to implement some new trophies.

GTA 4: Absolutely ridiculous online trophies. Not only is it a grind fest, the server has problem registering some of the records. The online portion of the game is pretty mediocre to begin with.

Burnout Paradise: Pretty good implementation of trophies all around. There are some difficult ones but nothing too ridiculous.

Mirror's Edge: Hardest trophies I've played so far. It's very frustrating on some of the time trials with such a imprecise control. But at least they are all doable.

Resistance 2: Decent trophies except the 10K kill on competitive. Too much grinding and total fail for not allowing players to pick games.

No, there isn't. They need to add that, though. Not having Achievements was one factor that led me to get the PS3 version of some games. Now, that factor is in the 360's favor, since at least I can disable the messages on that system.

I downloaded the Super Stardust HD demo but chose not to buy it. Now I'm stuck with a 0% achievement rating for the bloody game attached to my profile, just like the old Xbox Live arcade demos used to.

When Sony steal an idea, they really take everything, don't they?

So far I'm level 4 with 12%, and I don't have one gold trophy yet. Here's my take on the trophies for the games I do have.

Pixeljunk Eden: Great and hard trophies. I've only got 9% in this category, but there are some good hard ones.

Super Stardust HD: Kind of interesting, it's taking a while to get the expansion trophies but the game is hard enough to make it interesting.

WipEout HD: I like this trophies EXCEPT Bling Brigade. There are too many trophies that are dependent on other people... which brings me to my next trophy list.

LittleBigPlanet: HORRIBLE trophies. Most of the main trophies depend on the general public to not play the "get all the trophies" levels. If you don't have enough friends to get the Party Person trophy, it's impossible to finish. The online is horrendous and also makes the Socialite trophy seem like a test of your patience.

Resistance 2: I like all of the trophies in this game, even the 10,000 kills trophy. It gives you some goals to shoot for since they aren't dependent on other people's tastes.

I think they are piss-poor at the moment, for various reasons.

1) Games are STILL coming out that don't support them - Pitiful.

2) They are "hidden" in the UI so that I have to go look for them and my status, which doesn't keep them in the forefront of my mind. They need to make your "level" constantly visible.

3) When I do go look at it there is an annoying delay.

As it stands right now I just don't give a shit about them.
