That's a nice wide variety to start with, some brostep, moombahton and whatever style deadmau5 decides to produce this week. This thread is a good place to expand on those but you'll get plenty of shitty witch house and boring downtempo recommendations along with the proper juicy tunes so make sure you give everything a sample.

Digged your mix Johnlenham. I can tell you were a fan of the Rustie essential mix.
Welp, gave it a try. First crack at it, probably not all that great but I had fun with it. I'll have to acquire some proper software at some point I suppose. Get a better ear/mind for it as well, hopefully that'll come with practice. Joy Orbison - Sicko Cell Evian Christ - Fuck It None Of Ya'll Don't Rap Machinedrum & Falty DL - Give In 2 Sepalcure - Breezin Martyn - Twice As Jim-E-Stack - 3rd Soul ASAP Rocky - Purple Swag (Jim-E-Stack Bootleg) Mess Kid - Sipslow (Morri$ Prpl Drvnk Remix) XXYYXX - Overdone http://soundcloud.com/souvlakispaces...smell-good-doe edit: Stoked for the Jessie Ware LP. Singles have been good. That Disclosure remix is still one of my favorites.

Edit #2: If I can find the motivation, I'll try and work on a mix tonight. 7-8 tracks is a lot easier to plan than the CD-length ones I used to try to do. |

Just noticed that Future History was added to Spotify. Probably going to put that on repeat for a while, such a great album.

XLR8R Mix 243: One of my absolute favorite rappers and beat producers, John Wayne, the cowboy with the fatboy face. Not to be missed! - Joel
Southern California's Jonwayne is an imposing figure. First of all, he's quite literally a huge dude, someone who brings a sort of bearded, mountain-man aesthetic to the world of Low End Theory and the extended beat scene. Second, and more importantly, it seems like the former Bubblin' Up producer and rapper never stops working. Shortly after signing to the venerable Stones Throw label, which recently reissued an expanded version of his Oodles of Doodles beat tape and also plans to release a proper Jonwayne album later this year, the entrepeneurial young artist dropped This Is False, a free album/mixtape he described as, "not so much a pile of songs as it is an executed concept in viewing how our surroundings change our energy and vibrations." Now, he's followed that up with an exclusive mix for the XLR8R podcast series. While a quick glance at the tracklist might lead one to believe that it's simply a hip-hop mix—albeit a solid one—that would ignore Jonwayne's inclusion of choice bits of avant funk, experimental noise, vintage synth-pop, and tripped-out soundtracks. Combined with his penchant for playful knob-twiddling, the songs coalesce into a podcast that's highly engaging, for hip-hop diehards and novices alike. - XLR8R 01 Sun Ra "We Travel the Spaceways" (Saturn Research) 02 Tim Hecker "Radio Amor" (Mille Plateaux) 03 cLOUDDEAD "Rhymer's Only Room & Velvet Ant" (Mush) 04 Notorious B.I.G. "Suicidal Tendencies" (Bad Boy) 05 Dimlite "Unknown" (Now Again) 06 Defari "Unknown" 07 Quasimoto - "Broad Factor (Jonwayne Remix)" 08 Jeru the Damaga "Perverted Monks in tha House (Theme)" (PayDay) 09 Les Visiteurs Du Soir "Je T'Ecris D'um Pays" (Born Bad) 10 Big L "All Black" (Columbia) 11 Bruce Haack "Unknown" 12 Company Flow (Def Jux) 13 Busta Rhymes "Survival Hungry" (J) 14 Lootpack "Episodes" (Stones Throw) 15 J-Live "Braggin Writes" (Raw Shack) 16 Passion "As The..." (Interscope) 17 Dr. Octagon "No Awareness" (Bulk) 18 De La Soul "Dog Eat Dog" (Tommy Boy) 19 Ghostface Killah feat. Raekwon "The Faster Blade" (Epic) 20 Jeru the Damaga "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" (PayDay) 21 Edan "Mic Manipulator" (Lewis) 22 Kitaro "Dawning" (Canyon) 23 Kitaro "Tienshan" (Canyon) 23 Steven Wright "Entire b-side of I Have a Pony" (Warner Bros.) 24 KRS One "Ah Yeah" (Avatar) |

I need to move into a bigger apartment ASAP so I can start doing vinyl ;_; There is so much music that I want/need that is vinyl only... Because of this, I always feel like I have to settle for less by finding a comparable digital track. Feels bad... |

Hope no one minds I jump on the throwing up a mix bandwagon.

Loosely fits in this thread as being "electronic"... and I guess it was groundbreaking for the time. Would LOVE to do some kind of a cover/remix of this, but given my complete cluelessness about home production, wouldn't know where to start :(

Such a huge fan of alot of these guys, just found this thread, and there are alot of great recommendations in here but I have not been able to go through every page...lots of stuff.
I actually just got into Infected mushroom recently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6hL6fkJ1_k They actually have some pretty decent stuff out, really diggin alot of it. Also really into Nero lately : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBKlm...eature=related Seems like there is always something awesome coming out of the scene, pretty much always have something great to look forward. Also probably have this beauty heading to my place soon : ![]() just doing some compairisons atm. Anyone else on Gaf involved on the artistic side? I been dabbling with it for years, but it's mostly a hobby I do out of enjoyment. Worked a few at a club that friend owns a few times in Miami though. |

Hey guys, anyone have recommendations/suggestions for controllers? I'd love to have a setup where I can play with Serato (or whatever) at home with control discs and decks, but for portability's sake use a controller which only needs to be connected to a system's input rather than have cables go everywhere (and have a headphone out for monitoring, obv). Anything decent and not too exxy? |
