ESRB Watch: More Sega Classics coming to the XBLA and PSN #1

http://www.esrb.org/ratings/search.jsp

Well, you all know the drill, a bit of deep search has yielded the following ratings.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 SEGA Everyone Comic Mischief Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 SEGA Everyone No Descriptors Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3
Sonic the Hedgehog SEGA Everyone No Descriptors Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3
Streets of Rage 2 SEGA Everyone Animated Violence Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3
Gunstar Heroes SEGA Everyone 10+ Cartoon Violence Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3
Phantasy Star II SEGA Everyone Mild Animated Violence Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3
Comix Zone SEGA Everyone Animated Violence Windows PC, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3

Quite the bounty listed, it is interesting in light of that Sega comp disc getting a release next year.

So that's why it's not on the retail compilation.

I thought this sort of thing wasn't getting put up on XBLA any more?

Actually... what's going on, Sonic is already on VC and XBLA.

Potentially stupid post, right here.

Maybe they are releasing not these games individually but the entire SUGC as a digital download and retail release like Warhawk and some others? Even with 30+ games I can't see the game taking up all that much disc space? Sure would make more sense then releasing them seperately.

For compilation games, the ESRB rates the entire package (for example, Midway Arcade Treasures 2 was rated M because of Mortal Komabt 3 was one of the games) and not the individual games in it.

That is do to the fact that Comix Zone had a stand-alone PC Release way back in the mid-90s.

Unfortunately, I have no Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

So I would buy Sonic 3 if it came to Xbox Live with the S&K levels as well.

I mean, come on, I'm sure people would be willing to pay 800 points for the complete package, as opposed to buying Sonic 3 for 400 and Sonic & Knuckles for 400 and... blah.

If you just want to play the games the way they originally were, it's a lot cheaper to buy the compilation disc.

If these come in the same wrapper that they've put the previous Sega Classics in on XBLA, I'll pass.

I don't mind the filters so much, though.

If it's Sonic 3 & Knuckles I'd double dip on XBLA and PSN I think. XBLA for achievements, PSN for dpad. Hell, maybe I'll triple dip just to catch 'em all.

If it's not, no buy.

There's 2800 points worth of games here. That's more than the $30 the compilation will cost.

OH GOOD GOD. I remember it took me ages to work that out... absolutely ages.

I hope Sonic 3 is with Knuckles. Though knowing Sega, they'll probably release it as a standalone game/expansion to Sonic 3.
