I just want to thank everyone for letting me do this for the last five years, especially the mods who ~~brutalized~~ quietly shut down the competition.

But this is the last time I'm doing it. I figure someone else would like to give it a shot, or someone else can figure out something a little more precise than my method, or maybe something completely different. It's also pretty time-consuming, and the way life's going, I won't have extra time next year as I gear up for life outside college.

So thanks again, and good luck to whoever takes it up next year, if anyone does.

I think gaf made a mistake on GOTY. I don't find MGS4 or LBP anything special at all.

Ones I agree with (also leaving out ones like PSP specific categories since I don't have a PSP. Mother 3 doesn't count either since it was just a fan project and no actual English version exists). I think the top 5 in GOTY are wrong:

Hey, the shitty Wii and PS2 games were included when I thought they wouldn't be which boosted it up, and Chronicles sucks balls.

All in all though, I am happy with the top 100 as a whole.

It would help if you'd post what method you were using. That way we could improve upon it. Oh and I'd also like to thank you for doing this the past few years. GAF's GOTY list is the only one I really respect, take seriously, and agree with. It seems whatever method you're using seems to work out fine, because the best game always wins.

Not a good reason. Braid is also Xbox exclusive and as you can see the points difference between the two is minimal.

Sega is so weird when it comes to PS3 exclusivity. The only reasoning I could think of is that Virtua Fighter 5 360 did really poorly and they decided that the Yakuza games and Valkyria wouldn't be worth it. It's even more weird that these are some of the only good games Sega are producing these days.
