The SFII Cover with Blanka doing a roll was my first ever issue. When I was in grade school kids would bring issues in and we would all huddle around the mag during lunch time, brings back some funny memories. Spilled chocolate milk all over the Sonic 2 cover, the owner of the mag crying. :lol

Sad to hear. Really enjoyed the 1upshow and Podcasts, it's pretty much the only game related content I made a point to keep up with. Hopefully most of you land on your feet, tough times for all. Thanks for the memories.

Shitty ass news. Been reading EGM/1UP for years, and despite everybody's opinions on the always changing quality, I've always found both to be highly worthwhile. Obviously, the consistency was due to the awesome people who were there for years or the talented people who were brought in over the years.

Some of my favorite gaming memories come from playing over Xbox Live with some of the EGM/1UP guys back during the Halo 2 launch period. Dudes never acted superior and just loved gaming. Good luck all!

Well, I guess in the grand scheme of things, 20 years for a fully independent print mag dedicated to gaming is pretty amazing all by itself. And you know what they all say about good things.

Good luck to all those who have lost their jobs and are facing reshuffling. Man, it has never been a worse time to be a game journalist. More now than ever, I guess its time to rethink one's career... especially since so many others with more experience and better skill-sets than I are all in the ever increasingly crowded talent pool looking for work.

This is a sad day for gaming. EGM was one of my favorite mags back when I was a kid. The latest issues were fun to read too.

What I'll miss most is the 1up podcast series, especially 1upYours and retronauts -- two great podcasts that always made my weekly drives much more enjoyable than they otherwise would have been. Everybody involved did a truly fantastic job. Best wishes to the 1up/EGM crew; hope you guys land on your feet.

The news has gone out. With the buyout by UGO, many of us here won't be moving on into the new organization. That includes most of Gamevideos and the entire crew of The 1UP Show.

What can I say? This has been the best job I've ever had. You all have been the beast audience we could ever have asked for. I've poured more of my life and soul into this job and this show than I could ever have thought and the ROI was absolutely worth it. I inherited The 1UP Show and before I was Producer/Editor/SoundGuy/Popmaker/Crappy-Actor and god knows what else, I was the show's biggest fan. I still think it's the best gaming TV/Video Podcast that's ever existed and you had better believe this isn't the end of us even if it is the end of The 1UP Show. The future is a dark and scary and I have no idea what's going to happen but we're not going to just fade quietly away.

To all my friends here at 1UP, those staying and those going away, you are the best bunch of people I could ever have hoped to work with and the inspiration I've garnered simply by being in your presence can never be returned in kind. My love, my heart, and my sincerely felt best wishes to each and every one of you.

To all the fans of the show and of the work we've done here at Gamevideos, I can say this: keep an eye out. We have no definitive plans, but hopefully you're willing to give us a shot if and when our next venture hits the Intertubes. If you're curious what we'll be doing in the future, we're on Twitter.
