in keeping with tradition, i will make a request about the thread title:
could someone add "(ex-1UP FM)" to it, so folk have some idea of what it is? anyhow, i hope you guys enjoy what's there. it's rough, quite obviously, but things will be much better next week (especially when we've had more then a few hours to get our heads on straight). and skip should be rolling through, and shane will be on sometime soon, and backlog will continue in some form, etc. etc....we will survive. i love you guys, thanks for listening. |

Loving the podcasts so far. Good to see that the guys aren't bitter.
As for the fighting game genre discussion, where one guy was talking about how there should be a new kind of fighting game with analog controls, but that they would sell poorly, I was thinking of the Smash Bros. series the whole time (which also happens to be sell better than any other fighting game). |

Hit the bit about paid content, and I wonder if these guys thought about doing something similar to the model that Red vs Blue does to bring their show back. They have a website with a strong community and a subscription service where you get extra bennies for doing, plus a slew of merchandising in shirts and other stuff. Obviously, their core content is different, but I think it's something that could be applied here.

Great stuff, this. Thanks for the quick job in putting this together. Makes working in the non-games part of the IT industry easier.
Hopefully you guys find your new places quickly enough. And keep broadcasting EDIT: If you do try a 1UP Show-ish thing, here is one that would pay for a subscription. I loved it. Try hammering away while the iron is hot though. Last edited by Billen : 01-08-2009 at 08:37 AM. |

Awww no! It died on me literally seconds before Ryan was going to say whether he preferred SFIIHDR or SFIV.
