Holy hell. I'm 7 hours in, and I just finished 1-2.
Nevertheless, it's been awhile since I've been so satisfied accomplishing something in a video game like that. Felt like I'd just finish the last boss of a game. Last edited by Traced-Velocity : 10-09-2009 at 08:45 AM. |

2-2 sucks. Lost my souls. Went to retrieve them. Now I'm lost. Been running around like an idiot completely confused as to how the hell I get out. If anyone can help me I'm around that guy Patches who tries to get you to go after that treasure. That big worm thing is just above on another walkway. Also just ran in to two red guys. Scary stuff but I kicked some ass.

You will probably walk the right path a few times because the boss ... well he's gonna tear you a second asshole. And then a third. Last edited by M°°nblade : 10-09-2009 at 09:46 AM. |

I'm having fun in 4-1. I literally just spent the past hour learning how to fight the skeletons, to the point where I can kill them without taking many hits now. But how do I kill Vanguard?? :(
I have a bow but arrows don't do much damage. And I have no magic. |

Keep following the path through until you come back out into the open - now you should be behind Vanguard and from this vantage point you can swipe at his ankles before retreating back into the tunnels. |

I can't believe how awesome this game is... it's like, where did this amazing masterpiece come from, under the radar and everything??? It's like no other game experience known to man!
Where else do you find yourself standing before a demon like Vanguard, thinking, "Do I take my 6k souls back to the Nexus and level up, or do I try to run past him and grab the uchigatana, and risk dying and having to fight my way all the way back here..." I ran for it, dove past him, nearly got killed by the flying things, grabbed the uchigatana, ran back past Vanguard and headed back to the Nexus to spend my souls... I'll get Vanguard's soul another day. |

Btw. this thread has gotten me back into Demon's Souls again.
I already beat the game and started a NG+ but yesterday I decided to make a new character (female knight) and I quickly rolled through most of 1-1. I was almost downstairs to get to Phalanx only to fall down a couple flights of stairs and die. I guess I will continue again today. I'm going to try and focus my character build on strength and endurance (heavy armor and weapons). It willprobably to turn the game in even more of a bitch considering magic is damn useful in this game. |

Roll to dodge from his leaping attack, proceed to stab him in the back. Keep hitting from behind. Then either continue to use this attack or keep turning around him in circles evading his attacks.
Alternate strategy is to have a lot of endurance and a large shield, block his attacks and retaliate when he recoils from his blocked attack. |

The items from 1-2 and 1-3 (Pure Cloudstone and Rage of God) can be obtained by other means. |

Noob report, I got a couple more questions. What do the unknown hero souls do? Can you use them?
I also finally beat 1-1. I didn't have any firebombs but turpetine saved my ass. Which reminds me... I killed red eyes by making him fall into the hole near the beginning but didn't get to loot his body, the fuck? Also, I rescued Ostrava but I couldn't find the thief ring. Where is it? Also, I beat 1-1...should I farm the level before proceeding to 1-2? I already spent 5000 souls on upgrading my stats... |

Got some co-op going with my friend on 3-1, and while he already made some progress, I didn't realize the EVIL ENEMY OF BEAMZ would kill me so fast. I'm pretty much right before the boss of 3-1, so I hope to tackle that after I get a chance to play it again.
Soooooooooooooo gooooooooooooood. |
