Resistance Retribution demo is up

So I just downloaded and played the dem for this PSP game and just Wow, more beatifull than GOW CoO and more fun than Syphon Filter. The controls felt a bit strange in the beginning though, but eventually it works perfectly.

So everyone download it, you don't want to miss it ^^

True. It's really really just hyperbole left. To say that it's better than R2 just from a five minutes long demo is a bad joke. You can't even judge that just from the demo. I can't take this stuff serious anymore, it's just a competition in "who bashes R2 the most".

Will the full game be downloadable? Because, it should be. At this point, Sony should just eliminate retail sales of PSP games and just sell them exclusively through the PSN store. It would be a good way to curb pirating, and it's not like Gamestop would miss sales of PSP games.

just realized the demo has those Chimera enemies that hop on walls and shit from R1. They were awesome and they arent in R2.

so add another check mark under Resistance PSP

What the demo allows us to experience are the core gameplay mechanics, which I found more enjoyable than those used in Resistance 2. Retribution actually has a bit of a "Gears-lite" vibe going on in that it uses cover based gameplay along with streamlined controls for a handheld system (the targeting works beautifully).

I hate having to lug around the disks (even worse if you have to bring the boxes) on trips.

From what i remeber Sony said all PSP games released in 2009 will be available for download so if thats true there should be no problems.

Just don't play FPS anymore. And if you want to play one choose one where you can aim with buttons. :)

Really looking forward to this one. I hope the online component is fun. Bend have made some pretty sterling maps with Dark Mirror/Logan's Shadow, so I suspect they've gone to town with this one.

Oh no, I love the FPS genre. Resistance 2 was the first FPS in a while that I did not enjoy, actually.

What do people think of the aim-assist? I was thinking it might have been a bit of a game-breaker before trying it, but using the advanced controls with the aim-assist, the game plays like a nice, fast action title.

I enjoyed the demo. I really liked the lore of resistance (haven't played the r2 yet tho) so i wanted to know more about the story and the characters. Gameplay wise auto aiming is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. You just don't need to aim with rifles at all. I just strafed and hold the r button and i killed the shit out of everything i saw except bulletsponge bosses which needs a bit more then holding and strafing. Long story short, i'm interested in this i will check this one out.

That's a pitty. I don't know why it didn't click with you, I think it's a great game, especially the core gameplay is just plain fun. :)

How do you think the auto-aim will go in regards to multiplayer? I'd imagine it'd be some sort of amalgamation of Battlefront: Renegade Squadron and Logan's Shadow. I'm fine with that, actually...I loved both.

If I remember correctly, I always have problems downloading UK demos for my PSP. Actually, it's more like I have problems uploading to my PSP.
It always warns me about syncing it or something to my EU account, but I always worry it'll end up deleting whatever I have saved to the card (kind of like an iPod).

Can anyone tell me how to upload this demo to my North American PSP properly?

I haven't played anything online on psp so i have absolutely no clue but rocket launcher and granades needs aiming and you can manually aim with rifles by pressing l trigger. Maybe there are some range limitations in multiplayer.
