That's Bad Girl from No More Heroes. There's a thread around on GAF where somebody removed the cellshading effect from the model and that's what she looks like underneath.

I sadly missed Shantae on the GBC, but when I when I was an editor for GBA Central I tried to give Shantae Advance as much publicity as possible. I reviewed their Scorpion King game and gave it a good score. WayForward's always been cool, but now they're back on my radar at least after the fun Lit and this, along with talk of other upcoming projects.

I wanted Shantae Advance so very badly :(

I even picked up the Rescue Heroes game they did. :P

I'm glad to see they're getting regular work; but Shantae Wiiware needs to happen.

Yeah, what he said. But not what Taxman said. That guy's a total loser and definitely not my roommate. Oh crap, there I go again with that sarcasm. If I were actually hinting at a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game, I'm pretty sure I would have worked the number 42 somehow into that post. With all that being said, I have exclusive information on a game that I made as part of a class project in college. Level 1 will likely never be completed, but you should all know that I'm keeping myself under NDA lest I be forced to sue myself.

Nobody said it isn't happening. They've got multiple products in the works.

Dude that nearly was 5 years ago. Come on!

Also WF is rocking it lately!

5TH Cell and WF should get together and make something. We could be called the 5TH Way.

Majesco has the license so they are, which makes those screens all the more surprising.

It's not a remake, the article says that you have more combat and forms this time around.

Much love to wayforward, all the guys at my office respect the hell out of you (even though Contra 4 causes rage blackouts).

Good to hear.

Another title that would be cool to do something like this to would be Little Nemo.

The fact sheet if anyone was interested:

Quote:
When Blobolonia is threatened by an evil emperor, the blob comes to earth looking for help. Instead, he finds a young boy. Help the blob dethrone the evil Emperor that's terrorizing Blobolonia and establish a friendship with the blob that will last a lifetime.

Game Overview:
a boy and his blob returns with an all new game play experience! True to the NES version, playing the boy, you feed your Blob jelly beans and watch it transform into cool and useful objects to solve puzzles and escape danger. With its robust and emotionally driven story, challenging puzzles, and visually impressive art style, a boy and his blob is nothing short of a heartwarming experience.

Features:
  • Originally created for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1989 by award-winning game designer David Crane (Pitfall!).
  • Experience the charming story through an all-new, hand drawn and painted animated presentation designed exclusively for Wii.
  • Teamwork is key. The boy has limited movement and range, so you must use your Blob friend to transform into useful objects to get to things or places the boy cannot access alone.
  • 15 new Jelly Beans including Caramel Cannon and Bubble Gum Bubble and classic beans like the Licorice Ladder, Apple Jack, and Tangerine Trampoline transform the Blob into different tools including: a ladder, trampoline, parachute, cannon, shield and more!
  • Travel through the Blobolonia Outskirts to the Emperor's Citadel in four breathtaking worlds featuring 40 levels filled with hidden treasures!
  • Battle the baddies and evil bosses that terrorize Blobolonia, including the Serpent, Quadruped Beast, and even the Blobolonian Emperor himself!
  • Celebrate a boy and his blob's 20th Anniversary with unlockable bonus content

Good day sirs!

P.S. This brings me a few steps closer to picking up a Wii at some point. Shantae however will make Wii a must buy

P.P.S. Is Wayforward looking for a Janitor by chance?

Why the FUCK haven't you submitted your goddamned portfolio to them? DO IT DO IT DO IT.

I can't think of anything more justified than you doing art for the next Shantae. (Rated AO for Adult Content.)
