Hmm, that opening bit in the city was very reminscint of UT3.
It all looks quite nice, some bits nicer than others, but I wasn't as amazed as I might have hoped.. but any new competent console engine (i.e. any UE3 alternative) is more than welcome. |

Cry Engine 2 is a monster, it took a bit for medium range PC to handle that thing well and even since it's 2007 release it's still the benchmark but it would have been a mess to try to port with such heftier requirements.
With that being said the Cry Engine 3 hints at looking amazing despite the small video feed. :O Far closer than I imagined, really. |

Eh...glad I just built a gaming PC. It definitely looks like it'll be awesome for those who don't have the option to play CryEngine games on consoles, though, and this is just a demo. I look forward to seeing an actual HD video though, as there could be a lot of detail lost in the compression.

Looking great. I'm glad Crytek has pushed the Cry3 engine onto the consoles because they deserve to make some money on those systems as well.
Can't wait to see how this pans out for Crysis 2. :D

What are you guys smoking? The lightning, the destructibility, the amount of detail, the material properties, and so on, doesn't impress you? It's basically Crysis. Please don't judge solely from this shitty IGN compressed video. I've seen Crysis running on High settings (there's two more above that) and I was fucking blown away from the get-go. If they can make a game that comes close to what I saw and make it run in 720p I'll buy two copies :D
Yeah you tell 'em Dark10x. |
