Pretty good, probably better than most are expecting. Definitely not up to the level of CE2 on a good pc though.

The first part is disappointing, tons of aliasing and low res texturing.
Gets much better with the natural environments. I prefer not to judge it until we get a proper, non-IGN, HD footage but at the moment it doesn't look really impressive.

Looks really good, but I'd like to see that running on the PS3 first at the same resolution and same effects as 360 before I buy into the hype. Obviously it's just a tech demo, so hopefully we can see this in action in some games soon.

Hmm, that opening bit in the city was very reminscint of UT3.

It all looks quite nice, some bits nicer than others, but I wasn't as amazed as I might have hoped.. but any new competent console engine (i.e. any UE3 alternative) is more than welcome.

Agreed until I see this running on a console I will try not to get hyped up.

Cry Engine 2 is a monster, it took a bit for medium range PC to handle that thing well and even since it's 2007 release it's still the benchmark but it would have been a mess to try to port with such heftier requirements.

With that being said the Cry Engine 3 hints at looking amazing despite the small video feed. :O

Far closer than I imagined, really.

Vid looked good, but the frames did look sluggish. Loved the part where he shot into the palm trees and all the leaves reacted with so much uniqueness.

So grainy, tons of dithering, not much AA, the FoV is too blurry...oh right, it's a horribly encoded vid that I can't tell shit from.

Eh...glad I just built a gaming PC. It definitely looks like it'll be awesome for those who don't have the option to play CryEngine games on consoles, though, and this is just a demo. I look forward to seeing an actual HD video though, as there could be a lot of detail lost in the compression.

Damn nice for a console port. I'm not gonna lie, parts of it were pretty close to Very High settings in DX9. Video's not in HD though so maybe some of the uglier bits are harder to see.

So so? Are you kidding? It looks virtually on par with what they delivered in Crysis on the PC. Obviously we'd have to more closely analyze the visuals to determine just how close it really gets, but most of the important elements are clearly in tact. They are even displaying elements which were only engaged in "Very High" mode on the PC (such as sun shafts). The only visual effect that I do not see used (unfortunately) is motion blur, but that could still appear. I'm sure there are a lot of small details cut (such as the insanely high resolution textures used on every object) in order to work within the memory contrasts, but it still delivers the look and feel of Crysis.

Obviously, this is an engine demonstration and not a game so you can't expect perfection in such a trailer. The framerate is smooth enough, but could be better, for instance.

The areas which do not resemble anything from Crysis are a bit less impressive, but that could very well be due to their inexperience with designing such things. :P It seems to me that Crysis would absolutely be possible on these machines, based on what they are showing here.

Well, these are two different beasts. What you're looking at here is the console version of CE3. If you were expecting it to trump the PC version of CE2, you were setting yourself up for disappointment. I'm sure CE3 on a PC or NEXT gen platform will look better than CE2 does now.

Looking great. I'm glad Crytek has pushed the Cry3 engine onto the consoles because they deserve to make some money on those systems as well.

Can't wait to see how this pans out for Crysis 2. :D

This is a demo of the CryEngine 3 running on Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. Games coming out for both systems will be able to license this engine and use it.

What are you guys smoking? The lightning, the destructibility, the amount of detail, the material properties, and so on, doesn't impress you? It's basically Crysis. Please don't judge solely from this shitty IGN compressed video. I've seen Crysis running on High settings (there's two more above that) and I was fucking blown away from the get-go. If they can make a game that comes close to what I saw and make it run in 720p I'll buy two copies :D

Yeah you tell 'em Dark10x.

No, as a Crysis player, I am right. Certain effects seem to have been improved(god rays, branch physics), but the severe shadow aliasing and resolution switching is one of the more obvious sticky points, lighting looks far more flat than it did in Crysis and Warhead on higher settings, etc.

It's certainly above "medium" in Crysis, but I don't think most people would consider "medium" to be what Crysis looks like.

What exactly do you see missing? I'm curious. I suspect these things will reveal themselves in higher resolution shots, but from this video, I really don't see how you can make such a claim just yet.

Again.... it's ported but still looks fantastic. I would expect them to show the PC version of Cry3 in the coming days.

Yes, this is ported from the CryEngine 3 on the PC to the next-gen consoles. There will be games coming out on the PC for future Crysis games and other games licensing the Cry3 engine.
