His radio show allows him to vent and dump a lot of bile and absurdity, but his personal life seems like one of simple wants and needs. Ultimately, his life does seem perfect to me, for I don't see him as a miserable bastard. He can go wherever he likes; he can do whatever he wants to do. The fact that he doesn't want to do all the bs that a lot of people in his position of power and wealth COULD DO doesn't make me think he doesn't enjoy his position of freedom to my mind. It just means that he truly has the freedom to do what HE wants to do WHENEVER. As to Beth O just being another supermodel...she probably isn't as hot as I imagine her, but every instance of her being on the show that I've seen just makes her seem so incredibly amazing. As to what the rest of his staff does, I would imagine that Howard Stern feels a great deal of responsibility for ensuring that his staff will always have a job. Stern takes his position very seriously and will not show up half asleep and what not. As such, has Stern ever missed a show? And for the people who are wondering why the hell I care or know anything about Stern without ever hearing a show, I stress that I first got into Howard Stern through the E! show. I continue enjoying Stern through Howard TV. Ultimately, it means I hear less than 1 percent of the ACTUAL Stern show, but eh, I do mostly enjoy it. The Howard Stern show is like a horrifically disfunctional family that happens to have celebrities and porn stars come through for a chat or a sybian ride. It's fun. |

It is quite painful. Politics, too. Nobody really knows what they're talking about, so you're constantly cringing at the inaccuracies/misunderstandings. I hear it's the same when they talk about sports, but I don't know anything about sports myself, so I give them a pass on that.

Well, Conan (and other late night hosts) pretty much only have themselves to banter with. Guests are only on for maybe 10 minutes, you can only talk with the Announcers/band leaders so much, unless there is good chemistry. The shows are more or less scripted.
Howard and the crew can, will, and has, rambled on any subject, for 30 minutes to an hour. Oh, and the censor-free ability helps alot :D |

Is anyone else sick of the diet stuff with Robin? It's great that it worked for her, but every time she starts talking I feel like it's an infomercial. And I looked up the Dr. Roni book that goes along with the plan she used, it sounds like a total scam.
And nobody but Gary seems to know what's going on with technology. At least he admits when he doesn't know what something does, everyone else just seems so sure of themselves and they come off sounding like my grandparents. I've only been listening since around 2002, and can't stand most of the older guests. I get pissed every time they announce someone like Beetlejuice is coming in, because I know I'm going to be totally bored while they do the exact same thing and ask the exact same questions once again. I downloaded some shows from the 90s a while back and couldn't even listen to them. I can't put my finger on it, but something has changed for the better in the past ten years. Stern is best when he takes someone that hasn't been in before and makes the conversation interesting so you find out stuff you've never known. |

Look at these awesome outtakes of Howard guest starring on Ryder P.I. I'm pretty sure it was his first acting job.
Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wj0PUmd5qWs Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2m_08_Tdpg He really can be a funny dude when he wants. |

Well, I kinda dropped the thread (mostly because you fuckers dont contribute :D), but heres some new stuff.
http://twitter.com/sternshow The show started doing it today and Howard himself does it from "about 5 hours ago." Pretty funny and I hope he keeps doing it. I doubt it though. And monday is the start of vacation week! Yay! But, it will be a week of the best fights, so that seems like it'll be awesome. |

Oh and here is a link to the video he was talking about today. The one of Bianca that he took on his Blackberry.

Does anyone else just tune out on vacation weeks? I listen to about 30 minutes and turn to something else. I like Howard when he's current, talking about whatever is happening now. Listening to fights that I heard years ago does nothing for me, even if it's packaged differently.

Ok two things.
I found this, NSFW, but funny as hell. Smallest Penis Contest NSFW, and it'll make you feel like a porn star. And, Hugh Jackman is on tomorrow. Should be an awesome interview. |
