The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf canned?
#1
There are rumors floating around that the new Witcher for console systems is canned, as the major Polish game-site reports:
http://polygamia.pl/Polygamia/1,9533...kasowany_.html shitty google translate version: Linky linky These are currently unconfirmed. Polygamia is trying to contact the developer, CD Projekt, for commentary on the subject. I'll probably update as soon as something new on the subject emerges. Might be getting mixed up with this.

Because this was posted a few days ago.

So I doubt its been canceled, why would it have been on the cover of that magazine, and posted in their forums just a few days ago about it? CD Projekt's way too enthusiastic about this to cancel it, it's going to be a significantly improved version than what already is on the PC. |

Ironic that the link is almost polygamy given what you can do in The Witcher.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out... given that a lot of the foundation was already there I would expect it to be a considerably cheaper project than most PS3/360 games. Either something went horribly wrong with development (given CD Projekt's inexperience with consoles it is certainly a possibility) or Atari is running out of funds (again) and trimming their portfolio. Then again it could be nothing of course.

Got the Witcher off eBay for 99c and now I'm regretful I didn't pay the full price. It's such a good game. I'll definitely pay for the remake.
I highly, highly recommend the novels, even if you don't care to play the games. This is the next evolution of Eldric and Geralt is here to stay regardless of how good the games are. |

I doubt this information is going to be true... don't worry console gamers... BUT let me some advise... If you have the chance support CD Projekt NOW and get the PC version, and enjoy the free bonus adventures and MODs, plus the game enjoys better with keyboard and mouse.
Don't wait to play this AWESOME game. Play it now on PC. Last edited by FuKuy : 04-28-2009 at 09:22 AM. |

It could definitely bomb and not hit hit 1M across consoles, though probably not given how aggressive they seem to want to be in advertising it though. Which is another reason this whole canned thing makes no sense to me. Last edited by Minsc : 04-28-2009 at 11:28 AM. |

I bought the PC version. I loved the whole world and atmosphere... very eery... reminded me of the world in Quest For Glory IV. And I loved that game.
I really want the console version as I bought the PC version after Crysis and could hardly play it because the graphics were... well... lets just say it's not a modern looking PC game. When I heard they were doing a new one for consoles with updated visuals and added goodness I just couldn't wait. Might go back and finish the PC version anyways... so awesome! |
