It seems the Pokemon variety show Pokemon Sunday will make a major video game related announcement on May 10th. The fandom believes this is the remakes of Gold and Silver, since the preview for the announcement involved gold and silver party balls(you know the ones that hang on the ceiling and pop open to spill out confetti).

Coro Coro and the Nintendo Dream are also to disclose a big title in their upcoming issues. Coro Coro is often the first magazine to reveal new Pokemon games.

It's not a remake though. The games introduce different scenarios, worlds to explore, gameplay mechanics, and yes, new pokemon.

Safari Zone was closed. Viridian Forest exists but is made up of tiny tiles that have no real appearance. Every part of Kanto was like 1/2 or 1/3 the original size. Still it was cool they made it at all and you could end with 16 badges. Just really small.

There has been a grand total of one remake: Fire Red/Leaf Green.

What I really want is a GSC remake with a sped-up DPP battle engine, a consistent menu system and some useful touch screen controls (not being able to drag and drop pokemon from your team/box in DP was a travesty). Did they fix any of that in Platinum?

Spent SO MUCH TIME with my copy of Silver, back in the day. It was for that reason, and when the Advance games were all like "LOL! No transferring your hard-earned work to another new game again!", which really made me stop taking the franchise with the gusto I used to have. Even Diamond had its limits in that facet.

But GSC is something that I remember fondly...oh yes...

Yes, the GSC Kanto is missing a few things. One mildly disturbing fact is that Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town, originally a mausoleum, is now a radio tower.

Anyways. GSC remakes? Oh, count me in, count me freakin' in. I think GSC might've been my favorite generation. :3
