 Here it is. The best Final Fantasy played with a crazy ruleset for no reason. PM me if you want in from now on. The thread is moving at a rate that I can't see anything at a reliable timing. If there is one thing I ask, if you have nothing to say about this other than "I just played the game so no!" or "FFV sucks" or whatever, please just don't bother. Final Fantasy V Four Class Challenge You will be given one class from each crystal set and can use only that class until you receive a new one. One lucky player per group of five will receive the White Mage, which is arguably[!] the most useful class for most of the game, so they will not receive a final class from the Earth crystal. Sucks to be you. You also will get the Thief, so lucky you gets two classes from the start. The "packs" will be completely randomized and I will hand them out. They will be posted and spoiler tagged. I'd ask you only check when you get the crystal, but I can't stop you. I'd imagine it'd be more fun not knowing, though. Basically: You can only use the four classes assigned to you. During each phase up until getting the last class, you can have two (or more) characters as the same class. So basically, when you get your last class, each character must be a different class. Example: Your classes are Monk, Time Mage, Bard, Chemist. You unlock Monk. Everyone must be Monk. You unlock Time Mage. You must have one Monk and one Time Mage. The either two can be either Monk or Time Mage. You unlock Bard. You must have one Monk, one Time Mage and one Bard. The last character can be either Monk, Time Mage or Bard. You unlock Chemist. You need one Monk, one Time Mage, one Bard, and one Chemist. But, each character doesn't have to stick to that class. Butz can be the Time Mage and Kurururururururu the Bard and you can swap Butz to the Bard and Kurururururururu to the Time Mage. Questions I thought you might ask: Can I use Bare? No. Can I use Mime? No. You can unlock it if you want to go through the dungeon, though. Can I use a class multiple times? Only until you get all four classes. Really, I don't care what the hell you do with those four classes, but when you take a picture of you beating the final boss, I'd like to see all four classes on the screen. Can I make every character master every one of my four classes? Yes. And that means you can use sub-skills. Can I get fucked over? Hell yes. If the randomizer picks for you Monk, Berserker, Beast Master, Dancer I can see you having an interesting time. But that is what this is about. A challenge. And a bit of craziness, which is always fun. What is the randomizer? I assigned each class a number from 1 to 5 and a suit. Then I shuffled some cards and laid them out. Science! I already did it a few times and the results have been nothing short of hilarious so far. And the bonus FF5a classes? No. Unless you want to play Bare until you unlock them and use only them! Then feel free to do that. Can I play before the official start time? I'd prefer not but I guess you can play up to unlocking the Wind Crystal and saving before you equip any jobs. Its a good thing white mage gets paired with theif because white mage solo would be torturous until the 2nd class. Literally no damage.
and then what if you end up getting Berserker as your 2nd class. LOL, prepare for some extremely long battles. Good luck killing that sandworm. and then imagine getting Bard as the 3rd class and dancer as the 4th class. |
