Father's name is Albert Roux
Uncle's name is Michel Roux

So having Jr after your name doesn't mean it is a father son relationship.

Glad they made an ice flower instead of Penguin suit.

EDIT: NM, guess the suit is just for special occasions like the Frog Suit.

One of the Mario Party games, I think...(Mario Party 5)

And I just realized they changed Iggy's hairstyle...I guess it's to separate him from his twin Lemmy, but couldn't they have picked something that doesn't look like the top of a turnip?

Could be another time you fight him, or perhaps they switched his arena with another Koopaling, because that arena looks distinctly different from the one from the E3 demo...

So does the rest of the game. The PAX trailer is exactly the same as the E3 trailer, but with update backgrounds, level designs, and textures. Larry's room at E3 was probably a placeholder.

Yes indeed. My hype just shot up considerably.

It looks a lot more creative than NSMB DS. I also have to admit that the 2.5D is really starting to grow on me.

Finally, finally

I am getting hyped for this game.
now my most anticipated holiday title by far.
cant wait to play it with my friends. koopa kids, new suits, yoshi, this is a new mario console 2d platformer.

I think it would have been so much better to just name it Super Mario Brothers 4.
it even makes sense given the 4 players and would make it very clear that this was a new full fledged incarnation to the console series. NSMB wii makes it seem like a derivation, port, or sequel to the DS game.

Mario World is already called Mario Bros 4 in Japan. :o

But I mean, it IS a sequel to the DS game. The first NSMB basically reset 2D Mario, culling it down to a specific kind of experience. NSMBWii expands on that template as a sequel should.

All 8 of the Koopa Kids popping out of a cake to kidnap Princess Peach is just hilarious to me. I was wondering if they were going to put a new spin on that from the DS game.

I got to say Peach has an obsession with cake or is it just a running joke.

She bakes one for Bowser in Bowser's Inside Story, and we all know about Mario 64.

It's the best the storywriters could come up with. Quick! Get someone from Naughty Dog on the scene, they'll be able to save this trainwreck of a story and create two hours worth of fully voiced cutscenes by themselves.

The one thing I deeply disliked about NSMBS was that it was mandatory to skip worlds. I don't want to skip worlds, I want the option to run through them all in one game! Hopefully we can access all worlds in one game in NSMB:WII

I mean, yes, you don't have to go 1->8 sequentially, you leapfrog over a couple depending upon the exits you can take. But you can always just tap the world on the map and take the other exit and jump between any of the worlds as you like. You can produce a 1->8 scenario easily, all in one game.

Anyway, I am super hyped for this game! I completely forgot about the Koopa Kids being in it, now I have to buy day one.

Not that story, uh, exists in Mario games, but the nostalgic part of me finds it interesting how it's got the Koopa Kids AND Bowser Jr.

If they really want to push this game beyond the threshold of the newer Mario games they'll include random items and enemies that exist only in a single level. That mystique was part of what made Super Mario Bros. 3 so great.

Like everyone else here, though, I'm getting it regardless. I KNOW it'll be a great party/girlfriend game, as well as, by the sounds of it, a great single player Mario, exceeding New Super Mario Bros. DS.

The Koopa kids returning is enough for geekgasm. And as for unique enemies, the king of that is Yoshi's Island. If they want a truly geektastic moment, give us back Kurobo's Shoe for one level only.

As for party aspect, this might replace Rock Band and Super Smash for party play. I cant wait for this game. And it will be a game the Mrs. and I will play together too.

Swoopers were in NSMB DS.

The dolphins from SMW don't get much love, and although they were in SMG, torpedo teds and rocky wrenches wouldn't hurt. Although I doubt it happens, I hope there's at least 1 SMB3 esque airship level. We know that the koopalings are fought in forts like Bowser Jr was in NSMB DS, maybe the castles could be replaced with airships?

Agreed.

I know the comparisons aren't ever really justified, but it seems like it might be the fulfilment of the kind of GAMEPLAY I expected/hoped from LittleBigPlanet (obviously NSMBW can't touch LBP's content creation or graphics) before it came out.

And again, I know the comparison isn't really fair; they each set out to do different things.
