Impressive KH: DS and respectable GS numbers
I see MH: G is still hanging on, albeit low on charts. Capcom timed its release pretty well. By the time MH3 rolls around G will have run its course and gotten people used to the online system and such. Looking forward to next week. I hope imageepoch and MMV are able to do well with Arc Rise. If not, there's always the DS to fall back on. |

Not even the new episode helped to resurrect Haruhi's popularity yet. Can't wait to see a K-On game, with some Mio service. That would actually sell to the current K-On otakus. |

Nice numbers for KH and GK, I hate when MC and Famitsu are so different though (GK did better according to sinobi/Famitsu). Anyway, I hope Arc Rise Fantasia can do at least 40k this week, though with the way niche Wii titles have been doing it might be lucky to do half that... I wonder if there's any buzz for it.

It's because of the irregularity of the time when the thread is posted. I normally look for it Wednesday night (EST) or Thursday morning, if its not there, I sort of forget about the thread. Also the market is on a downward trend, and no one likes commenting every week "Oh wow, sales look terrible all around" there's no fun in that. I'm guessing we'll get a few more interesting threads around the time Dragon Quest IX and Wii Sports Resort come out.
Edit: Corran, Kingdom Hearts is a bigger franchise in the west than the east, but it's still considered a big franchise in the east. Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the GBA did no where near as well as this has done so far, so this one is considered a big success. The series seems to do better on consoles in general. Nice to see good numbers for some traditional games. Great KH sales, and very nice numbers for Miles. Good for Empires I think, I guess a bit lower than other empires, right?
Home consoles are still dead. Really curious to see how MH3 does, Nintendo looks pretty active in order to give it momentum, that never hurts. |

Considering that these threads usually attract a number of people who either live in Japan or are well versed in the Japanese side of gaming I'll ask this question that's been on my mind today here:
What's that phrase for a completely terrible game that is kinda bought specifically because it's terrible? There's a specific phrase for this "genre" and sometimes small Japanese stores would label a game as such. I totally forget the phrase, but I think I recall sometimes Cho Aniki has fallen into this area for example. |

EDIT: Also, what's Arc Rise Fantasia? Is it that game with the pastel filter? |
