They didn't at least go 99.99?

Do you just buy used games or are they reprinting stuff?

hmmm kind of tempting actually. My launch DC is still kicking in the guest bedroom with ikaruga and soul calibur... The drive is getting a bit noisy though (it was always noisy...) a backup would not be a bad idea.

They made it to $50 even.

Regret not buying a couple of spares at that price.

My Dreamcast is sitting in my uncles room, underneath a pile of pornography. I'm kind of afraid to retrieve it.

I actually got my first DC one year ago... after I had experienced PS3 + 360.. and it still impressed the hell out of me.

Actually, with VGA box, it's more visually pleasing than a Wii

Aren't there still hacked PSO servers?

I got my DC for like $30 or so back in 2002ish. But it has trouble reading a lot of games now, I really should just get a lens cleaner and see if that is the problem.

I hooked it up last year to my HDTV for the first time, only game that didn't look ass tastic was MvC2.

The Thinkgeek ones are provided by a wholesaler, and some people have received opened units. With Amazon Prime and The ECA discount I can get a DC for $108 delivered in 2 days. I'm not sure what Thinkgeek charges for shipping if anything.

New DCs are on ebay for like $70-$80 for the real price conscious consumer.

The BBA is worth more than the Dreamcast itself these days, mostly for hacking/homebrew purposes.

Gotta love the product description:

Quote:
The Dreamcast system is, in a word, awesome. Fire up Soul Calibur, and instantly you'll appreciate that the graphics and gameplay are even better than in the arcade version. And Sonic Adventure, with its light-speed gameplay, is sure to wow even the most jaded gamer.

It's amazing that such a small machine (it's about the size of your mouse pad) can deliver such incredible performance. Chalk it up to superior engineering. Dreamcast's only downside is that it comes with only one controller and a demo disc. In order to truly take advantage of Dreamcast's capabilities, we recommend outfitting the controller with a Jump Pack and a Visual Memory Unit. Getting one or more extra controllers is also a good idea, because some of the best Dreamcast games support up to four players at once.

Why it's so cool:

Ultramodern components: Custom-made video, audio, and processor technology blows away the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation and puts Dreamcast in the same league as PS2 and XBox.
Integrated modem: In another video-game first, Dreamcast comes with a 56K modem. Use your regular Internet service provider and the separately sold keyboard to access e-mail, shopping, and the World Wide Web. Not only can you upload high scores, participate in chat discussions, and download updates and enhancements for your games, but, through a membership to the SegaNet Internet service provider, you can play Quake III Arena, NFL 2K1, and other games against Dreamcast owners over the Internet.
The Visual Memory Unit (VMU): More than just a memory card, the VMU is a miniature portable game system that fits inside a controller--so its LCD screen is easily seen by you but hidden from your opponent.
All-in-one entertainment: It plays games. It plays audio CDs. It connects to the Internet and lets you browse the Web or e-mail friends. Our note to the cost-conscious: If you have a Dreamcast system, you just don't need a separate CD player or a separate computer. Dreamcast does it all, and does it well.

DC brought LOTS to the table before the rest, something a lot of people should realise :)

Bring back the VMU for next gen please, it was awesome having your own personal screen for into in MP games.

Cool, I never paid attention to the Dreamcast homebrew scene. Also didn't know there's fan-run PSO servers out there.

I think the same thing..... it was kinda cool using it for MP football games so the asshole sitting next to you wouldn't just look at the play you picked.

Constant life gauge for Resident Evil was pretty useful too.

Smart developers knew how to use it, most didnt though.
