Bonanza+. Now that's digital distribution going full force! Nothing can be packed faster than a package that doesn't physically exist.

The last two times there's been a Civ 4 deal the game has been available to Australians for about an hour before they suddenly realise that they've let the savages, or whatever they think we are, buy their game. Both time's I've missed out because I didn't impulse buy. Seriously, you can have my money 2k, you'll find it tastes the same no matter where it's from.

No, iPhone too.

And don't even try it mister. I bought Peggle for it for 99c so any argument you could have is invalid.

I never said there wasn't room for improvement. I think Steam's catalogue is stronger than GoGs, however.

What? Why is Civ 4 off limits to Aussies?

I remember the Rockstar pack was nixed here for censorship reasons but what's going on with this pack?

So wait. We can only get some of the games in this pack and not all of them due to region restrictions?

This cannot be quoted enough. There is no stock or sales lost when the product is digital. I am ten times more likely to buy this package than I would have any of the games here normally (excluding BioShock, which I've already played through thoroughly on 360).

That's more of a hangover from hard copy distribution deals, sadly. DD probably isn't to blame for that.

GoG is fine but only has a fraction of the games Steam has. The games being tied to Steam isn't a problem since it lets you install them as many times as you want on as many computers as you want. The fact that uses DRM (a very user-friendly version of DRM, keep in mind) means it'll land publisher support that GoG never will. Very few companies are going to let their new games be released on a DRM-free service. GoG is great for nabbing a few select oldies, but not much else.

All the semi major DDs in PC world have some pretty good deals and packs and such. Steam just has a bigger catalogue. Impulse is pretty great. Gamersgate would be ok too if it weren't so shitty for Australians.

One proxy here at work displays the pack and I can put it in my cart, but when I try to order it gets removed and I get an error saying there are no items in your cart. Annoying. Most other proxies cant even see the pack. Those ones can only see Civ IV Warlords but won't let you buy it because you don't own Civ IV.

Thanks for the heads up! great deal and I was looking to get Civ4 with all the expansions, now I get tons of classics/good stuff thrown in for free (I was expecting $50 for the core game and all add ons of Civ alone!)

GoG doesnt need DRM since if people were gonna play old games like that, they are readily downloadable all over the internet. GOG just make its easy for legal gamers to get these games easily and cheaply.

Notice how on PC there's Steam, Impulse, GoG and a dozen other online retailers?
Competition lowers prices.

We can also buy 120GB hard drives for less than $180 for the same reason.

What the hell is this stupid shit? They removed Civ IV and the Beyond the Sword expansion from European Steam? But they kept Warlords? wtfisthisshit.gif

edit: Something must be wrong. The 20k games pack is in the news feed, but when you click it nothing happens. Also Civ III is gone.
