I think MH3 hitting 1m is in stone now. Even if it gets there on the back of weeks of 10k's it will certainly hit that point. May be the first of the gen in Japan to do so from a third party on consoles depending on how its hold up, but its doing extremely well.

I kinda look at MH3 as blazing a trail through a treacherous forest (the Wii third party market in Japan), paving a road through the middle of it. Maybe other games will have an easier time walking that road. Should establish a decent sized Monster Hunter audience on Nintendo consoles too so future Monster Hunter games can follow.
The problem for both Nintendo and Sony is I think the console market in general in Japan is doomed. Wii Sports Resort is actually the one letting down the Wii IMO. It's selling fine, but it needs to be pushing more hardware like Wii Fit and the first Wii Sports did. New Super Mario Bros. Wii needs to bring it. |

The Slim's not out yet? I was at Best Buy yesterday and I swear to god I saw it on a display table with a bunch of shit attached (that raised the price beyond $400). I tried picking it up and it was heavy, too. It didn't feel like an empty display box.

Good MH3 sales still, maybe there's hope for non-handhelds yet :D
The lack of price drop on the PS3 fats is really puzzling, because as far as I'm aware there's still quite a lot of stock on shelves. What possible reason could Sony have for that? Are they going to write them off as a tax-break or something? |
