I didn't see anyone post a link to Ring of Gundam (Tomino directed, Yoko Kanno music and CGI done by ROBOT):

Zeta, 0083, and 08th MS Team are my absolute favorites.
Edit: Most badass Gundam ever, and I'm building the model: http://hlj.com/product/BAN901788 |

Holy shit 30 years? Wow, I had no idea this franchise had gone on for so long. I've been thinking of getting into Gundam lately (I've never watched a full series before, but I have seen a few eps here and there), but I have no idea where to start. So what say you Gaf? What the best series for a Gundam newbie to start on?

GUNDAMUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!
I've been on a huge ass Gundam kick for the last couple of weeks now starting with playing Gundam Senki. The game is surprisingly really fun, especially with the Efreet Nacht. Anyway, to follow up on the Gundam kick, I got word that my XN Raiser addition has been sent to my house. Time for some ridiculous add ons! ![]() Plus, I started work on a functional SD Gundam in LBP as a 30th Anniversary tribute! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I properly added the pink beam blasts and other little details. Still working on the beam blade, but I'll get it done soon. And Gundam X and G Gundam are my definite fave AUs. :D |

I watched 0079 and Zeta last year for the first time and I loved it. The story in Zeta was great and 0079 was pretty fun to watch too even if the animation was dated. I watched the TV series which I borrowed from a friend and bought the movie trilogy when I finished watching them.
I started ZZ when I finished Z last year but needed a break from Gundam at that point but this thread made me want to start it up again. I plan on watching every Gundam series in order of production. I'll buy the ones available here in the US too. |

Too quiet in here. How's about some music?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GB90NcP5PQ Tobe! Gundam- From Mobile Suit Gundam. Didn't care for this much at first, now it's one of my favorites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tA450yRJ6Cs The Winner- From Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories LOVE this song. This was what originally prompted me to watch 0083 when I first saw it on Cartoon Network. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJ8XH5JGyzQ Dreams- From After War Gundam X Probably my favorite Gundam opening. Didn't care much for Resolution. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTEaue56tGk Men of Destiny- From Gundam 0083 Right up there with The Winner, maybe even a bit more badass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLTzY00gNZY Arashi no Naka de Kagayaite- From 08th MS Team Like it, have yet to watch the anime though. :3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUNqUpChNeM Stand Up To The Victory: From V Gundam Again, haven't watched it, but I love the song. |
