Sure I guess. As long as you ignore everything that aired before 2000.

I just checked Zeonic and it's up to date, so I'm not too sure of what you're talking about :x |

Gundam Wing was the only pre-2000 Gundam show whose opening I could stomach. Apart from that there's just way too much soft jpop... thank god Bandai realized an opening should pump you up for the episode, and switched to rock or techno for the most part. |

2000s Gundam OPs are MUCH more "jpop"-ish than 90s, I'm not sure what you're talking about? I mean, seriously, we went from this: Victory: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=is7A_htB54g G Gundam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odBK6h_mNX8 Gundam X: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJ8XH5JGyzQ Turn A: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpqwY7tsZS4 To this: SEED: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM2MHApogGg Destiny: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2b...?search_algo=1 or worst offender : http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xei...tiny-op-4_news 00 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7jAk-Ud9eM Note that I'm not saying 90s OPs were better or anything (that's not my point), only that 2000s OPs are much more pop-ish and less original. |

ZZ still has the best opening in Gundam and anyone who says otherwise should die.
J/K on the dying part, but when the switch from caveman through Amuro/Kamille/Judau was brillant and one of my favorite OP moments ever. As for music, eh much prefered SEED's OP's in both music and overall content to OO's. |

I love how they imply that Judau is to Kamille as Kamille is to Amuro as Amuro is to CAVE MAN. |

I think what I was trying to get at is that the style of J-pop in the 80s and 90s were just so obscenely "poppy" to me due to their instrument arrangements and vocals. And the extremely soft female vocals. :l I think it's just more of the difference in generational composition technique... I actually really enjoyed Destiny's 4th op (which you so ardently called out, haha). |

I remember when that started playing and my wife (gf back then) heard it and asked wtf I was watching. I told her it was Gundam and she said that's not what she would expect from a Gundam intro at all and shook her head, lol. |

I don't hate the song or anything either, and I actually love the one this band made for Unicorn (Merry Go Round), but as Donkey said it was probably the worst match ever for a Gundam OP. It haunts me to this day.
I also see what you mean about the music style, different tastes for different people I guess. I'll still stand by my opinion that J-"rock" and especially the popular kind of music you hear in anime is really more pop than rock, thus my earlier point (should have left the "j" out I suppose). But its okay, I don't really want to have a fight about music categorization x) And as a matter of fact I'm a sucker this kind of music. You should see me singing at a karaoke. |

I like the Gundam songs Andrew W.K. covered >_> Aside from those, I like The See-Saw & Chiaki Ishikawa songs used:
See-Saw Chiaki Ishikawa: Prototype & Mou Nanimo Kowakunai, Kowaku wa Nai Kinda biased though, love her and have bought all of her albums (as well as See-Saw) + a bunch of singles <_< |

Bandai might be trying to spread out their OVA profits. They have Code Geass Akito the Exiled coming up, and based on the information the composer leaked, we can expect 4 volumes, each about an hour long (just like Unicorn), and they're apparently being released 3 months apart starting from some time in August or later (Aug 4 is when they will screen Vol1 in theatrical events like UC). So that's going to cover them until Spring 2013.
After that I'm sure they expect Vol6 and Vol7 to both be released within that financial year, which could give a HUGE boost to their profits even if they have nothing else big in that period in terms of home video releases. |

Well, the last two volumes are called "Over the rainbow".
Doing one episode for volume 8 and then a longer one for 9&10 was the logical way to do it IMO, so no big surprise. But a year until episode 6 is pretty harsh. I can understand why they did that but ugh. |

Man those papercraft Gundams are insane.
I recently picked up the HGUC Kshatriya which is going to be my first attempt at a fully painted kit. I wanted to have a companion to my MG Sinanju that matched so I decided to try and match the titanium look. I'm happy with how its coming out so far, I used an airbrush paint called Alclad II (glossy black and chrome) along with Tamiya Clear red after the chrome dried to try and get the Titanium finish. I've made some mistakes which I plan on fixing up but so far so good I think. Anyone have any recommendations for a nice gold paint? Im using Tamiya Gold leaf but its not as shiny as I would like it to be. Here is what I have so far (excuse the bad quality pics). First shot shows the external parts laid out on my desk(inner frame is still on the racks), next two shots are the parts drying outside with the first coat of Alclad II glossy black , then we have the wing/funnel thing with the chrome paint applied, and the last picture is with Tamiya Clear red applied.

Thanks! Yea I would really like a MG version of this kit, however if size is a concern the HG is about the size of a MG Zaku so its pretty big for a HG. I am not sure where they got the information from, but I read (on eclipse gundam I believe it was) that there wouldn't be a MG Kshatriya because the inner frame would have to be metal to support the size of the kit and that would make it too expensive. Not sure what source that came from though.
Have you tried to Panel line the Heavy arms yet? I dunno if you have tried lining with a gundam marker before, but if you do not like the outcome it comes off with alcohol and a Qtip/cloth without a problem. |

There's actually someone on Amazon selling the Asian version for $60. It has the Japanese version's picture though. I would buy it, but I want the Japanese version for consistency with my collection. Good thing I emailed him to be sure or else I would've been a bit annoyed if I bought it.

Gundam Age 31
![]() Desert battle reminded me of 00 for some reason but the G-Hopper blaster weapon was epic. Entire desert gone!. Kind of liked the plot. Though only criticism is that Shanalua is pretty obviously seen as a traitor or such, they could have hid it better than that. Also WootBit has to be the oddest name in this series. When do they tell us the next tv gundam? When this gen 3 finishes Ill be ready for more (same art style?) |

"The Origin" is a manga retelling of the original Mobile Suit Gundam series; Sunrise is working on animating it, though it hasn't been announced if it'll be a tv series or an OVA.
