The Pokemon debut is nothing short of incredible.
Going by its debut, it may very well go on to sell at the level of the initial "main" games.

Nintendo really played it well with the Poke Walkers.

Weird.

There was a similar difference last week. Slowly the tracker's are coming closer LTD wise.

Today should be a big day, with new iDOLM@STER and the PS3 Vesperia. I wonder how iDOLM@STER DS will fare...will it sell as well as the previous games or is Namco spreading the series out too much? Love Plus is doing decently and probably has a similar fanbase, so who knows...

[PS1] Dragon Quest VII (Ultimate Hits) (Square Enix) (20/07/06) (didn't chart)

One (?) more week for DQVII, according to famitsu.
And if there is someone who wants to download the m-create file and hasn't done it yet, please do it soon. I'll delete it on Sunday.
I finally finished with the media create database. I intended to post it around Christmas, but the last month I had a lot of free time and also big help from donny and joshua. So I managed to finish it a few months earlier:D . As you can see the format is EXTREMELY user friendly. Anyone who wants to start tracking Japanese sales (like me a couple of years ago) can use this file as a base.

Anyway here it is. Before you start dealing with it read the FAQ.

All lugia has is a type advantage. Atleast Ho-Oh looks like a legendary not some wierd anime reject. Are those hands or wings, make up your mind.

Not sure if I'm the only one who associated the games like this, mostly because of the exclusive Pokemon in each version tended to follow a similar pattern but,

Red--------------Blue
Gold-------------Silver
Ruby-------------Sapphire
FireRed----------LeafGreen
Pearl-------------Diamond

And hasn't the left column always outsold the right column? Isn't this the first time the right column (Silver remake) has outbeat the left column (HeartGold)?

Yay for Soul Silver. :D

I still think MH3 will sell 1 Million, but DQIX won't make it to 5M. The big differences each week between MC and Famitsu for MH3 is very amusing, though.

The Pokemon numbers are awesome :D :D :D

I expected Gold to sell more than Sliver. Tomodachi is a beast and I expect it to sell 2m by February. DQ9 is nothing short but awesome. MH3 is dying, I hope it makes it to 1m with the holiday push.

Pretty sure Red sold more than Blue and Diamond more than Pearl.

Diamond outsold Pearl, and Sapphire outsold Ruby....... maybe Blue Ocean (see what I did there) should have outsold Fire Red

Pokemon Platinum: 963,273
Pokemon Diamond: 820,047
Pokemon Pearl: 768,687
Pokemon Soul Silver: 723,000
Pokemon Heart Gold: 720,000

Week 1 sales for the main games this generation puts the remakes at the bottom of the barrel. Not really surprising since it was the same case with Fr/Lg. Still super impressive though! So next time around we'll get R/S remakes huh?

Nope, it has been done before with Ruby / Sapphire.
The last update we had was from 2006 m-create 500.

Pokemon Sapphire: 2.610.744
Pokemon Ruby: 2.550.021

Leaf Green has not outsold Fire Red.

More evidence that the version with the cooler Pokémon in the boxart is the one that triumphs!

723,000 people bought the wrong version. :p

It's not their fault the cool version was 100 percent sold out. Next week as more shipments of Gold come in, people will sell the Silver versions and buy the Gold version :p

Bad hardware sales for everything but the DS, in my opinion. PSP ready to go under 20k per week, Wii sales right back where they were pre-MH, and PS3, while respectable, is a massive drop off from last week which doesn't bode well for sustained sales. If it's below 40k next week, which I now consider likely, yikes. Within 2 weeks of the price drop/slim, the system would be selling ~20-25% of it what was.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.

It really is poor all around except for the DS. I don't see the PS3 maintaining anything, and Wii and PSP are very disappointing right now.

More evidence that the version with the cooler Pokémon in the boxart is the one that triumphs!
I was always of the opinion that the first one mentioned in the official marketing was always considered by customers (subconsciously) as the "paramount version" and thus the better version.

It always worked until Soul Silver.

01./00. [NDS] Pokemon Soul Silver (Pokemon Co.) - 723,000 / NEW

Yey, Soul Silver bestest version :)

Anyway, MH3 is finally running out of steam, people who predicted 900k LTD before disappearing are half right as it'll leave the top 10 very soon. That said, it'll still reach a million before December 31st.
